does anyone know how to start? this is my first time playing.

click on crossfire icon then press start and wait for screen to load and login.

Click on the crossfire icon, press start, when it loads login with your username and password that you chose when you created the account. Once you login they will ask you for a nickname. Choose a nickname that you like/want. Some of them might be takened. After that go to tutorial training. You should probably play one of the EM maps that have guns to choose from until your level up enough to buy a gun that you like. You might even find a gun you like on one of those maps! When you level to certain ranks you will be able to buy different guns, things to wear, and experience plus items! You need to get about 2000-3000 experience to be able to join a clan. Once you join a clan you will be able to play clan wars/scrims with your clan mates. Clan wars/scrims are where you face other clans. You are able to join black list or global risk for rival factions. If your team wins you'll get prizes. Also your clan or you can participate in tournaments. In those tournaments you can win permanet weapons, zp, and other various items. Also once you get to level 7(I think) you can buy ZP. ZP costs real money. On crossfire you can play the black market like a gamble. You might win you might not. Don't complain because you risked losing. You can spend gp or zp in the black market. There are other things you will find out in crossfire. Good luck.
