For this community, what are your expectations of a Moderator?
- Is it their popularity in the community that affects his status? Their community appeal?
- Do you expect "nice" Moderators or "uptight" Moderators?
- Do you expect a MOD to always enforce rules to every "dotted i" and "crossed t"? Take everything literal or show some interpretation?
- Should a Moderator be less "down to earth" and more business-like?
- What do you think the job description for Moderator should be? Is it simple Forum moderation? Should they be actively submitted new ideas to the community? What do you think they should be doing to fulfill what you think "being a Moderator" means?
- Any other expectations? Any other standards?

If someone like LadyShy can get mod like 3 times, I think I could get a second chance if I applied.
And they don't need more mods, they need ACTIVE ones. And before anyone comes in here and preaches "Well they are active, they just don't post."
I'm talking about the couple of mods who don't do anything, get paid just the same, and have proven themselves to be untrustworthy or just plain idiots.
Its a job, if you dont do the job you get fired. If I dont do my job, my boss doesnt continue to pay me while I sit on my ass, he doesnt just hire more people, he fires me, then hires more people.
GAWD. -

either way mods should be strict but friendly... just like saidin ( no im not sucking up i dont even want mod not gonna apply) -
I see your frustration Bruce
lol but let's hear your opinions on the topic up there ^^. I'd like to see your views on them.
Everyone in here, post your opinions to the discussion topic. Like I said, I don't want to start a "Bash the MOD staff" thread. This is meant to gather what the community actually looks for and expects in a MOD. Maybe it will get noticed

For this community, what are your expectations of a Moderator?- Is it their popularity in the community that affects his status? Their community appeal?
It is important that the person(s) chosen are "known" and "active" because I don't care who you are, I'm not going to respect you if I don't know you. A moderator watches the forums, and maybe does some in game events or whatever, and if they aren't active on the forum and known on the forum, they're not going to get in.- Do you expect "nice" Moderators or "uptight" Moderators?

Alright. Totally not the discussion I was going for. Haha. This was not meant to discuss current MODs or your candidacy for being a new MOD. Please keep to the topic I originally wanted discussed. This is meant to show our staff what this community actually looks for.
Bruce posted some ideas of a MOD who could broadcast or do some PS work. Good suggestions. Keep them coming. It's about the "General" MOD position. What do you guys expect? -

Yea I just laughed when you named the skills of what the next mod should have, we will see who wins best luck to all
What skills/qualities do you think the next MOD should have? Reference the original topic. -

dang dude you really broke it down their didn`t you lol
the only thing i dont really agree with is the popularity thing. Yes you should be active on the forums BUT trolling is not really helping at all, posting in random topics about useless crap, and people get known on the forums most of those peoples posts are pointless. experience should also be a factor in choosing a MOD. and im not just talking CF experience im talking other MOD and GM experience.
Flame me if you will but i think a mod shouldn't be based on popularity! -

he should..you actually organised it and ryan/ajken/batser arent that active and I don't think theres that many in Europe that would actually run it so.... -
What is expected of a mod:
- To be indifferent: Whether it's you're friends or someone you hate, treat them the same (most mods atm break this rule on a daily basis)
- Follow the rules yourself: If YOU don't follow the rules, how do you expect other to?
- Be intelligent: No one wants a dumb mod... let's be honest.
- Don't abuse you're power: If it's a small issue, let it slide...
Those are some of the things I personally expect from any mod...for any forum. -
