failed to download version.ini.

well ive tried everything from re-downloading to closing my antivirus+firewall

ive checked some other threads, really no help from them

idk how to fix it, i run as admin get the same thing

Try uninstalling the game using revo-uninstaller which you can get from here http://www.revouninstaller.com/. This will uninstall the game and clean your registry at the same time. Then you can re-download CrossFire and start fresh.

Man, I am sorry this didn't help you. You may want to fill out a support ticket and see if Z8 can help you out.

yea i have the same problem... and ive been playing this game for a year and half now.. and now it pulls this kinda stuff on me? this is starting to get really annoying
