Generally, it means the team that the server receives commands and actions from you. So you would see another player sooner if you had 20 ping, and if you both shot a bullet at the same time your 20 ping would register faster than his 80, so he would die.
In conclusion: Players with lower pings have a slight advantage over players with higher pings. -

In theory this is how it is supposed to work. However, in this game I have commonly see those with 200+ ping have advantages for some reason. For instance I was playing against a kid whose ping would go from 200+ to about 400 and I could not kill him. I would pound him in the head and watch blood and his head jerk back and he would not die. Suddenly he would be behind me and then I would be dead. -

games netcode are created "normally" for people with low acceptable pings ie 10-80ms... (thats right, if your ping is higher then 80 your are looked at as being unacceptable by the entire gaming community) there for if you play cod or quake or unreal tourney with a 100-300 ping you would play for about 10 secs, then realize the game is crap with high ping and leave,, just as you should..
this game however, has.. shall we say.. "******ed" netcode... it uses client side movement calculations that are not vereified by the server in order to allow high pingers to play this game... (this is also the reason a speed hack was possible.) the result is one of many examples that make this game frustrating...
1. You have good ping, some one who has bad bing fires at you on his screen, but in reality on your screen, and according to the server, you have already gone around a corner or ducked for cover. BUT sense hit detection is based of client positions, and it does not check it againts the server info, he saw you and shot, (because his info is outdated) and the server counts it as a hit. thus you die 5 feet around a corner..
2. a high ping sniper peaks a corner sees you then shoots. boom you dead...
on your screen, there is no one there, atleast not intill you die, at which point he teleports around the corner... why? his signal is so slow that the info that he has come around the corner does not reach you until he has fired the shot....
3. air reg is garbage. i can jump shot in a low grav map in unreal and singal shot an average of 4 targets before hitting the ground.... WHY? because all client info is checks againts the server. this game? as far as i can tell 9 out of 10 shots at airborn targets to not reg.... -

And I am talking by experience.
My ping was 323 and now it is 234 . I have a little more chance to kill in other mode but I play only Ghost mode and Sniper in Monaco.I never shoot on moving target cause it will never register ( sniper mode ) and in GM I camp in a place where the ghost will be bound to make a stop before he reaches me " I will shoot only at that moment and thus will have the kill."
If people use their brain a little bit and understand how to get use of the ping he has,I think many problems will resolve.
one more thing . for me it`s like this "If I play against a good player with a fast reaction I am dead and if I play against a slow reaction player he will be dead . This means like as if I am having equal ping against the slower reaction player .( example : I have 250 ping and he has 50 ping , the difference will be 200 Milliseconds of advantage on me and and if he takes 200 milliseconds to react then ,I consider that we are both on the same level of reaction time with no difference in ping ."
The way you talk let me see that you are an intelligent person and I think that you may agree with my way of thinking or theory. -

Guys with <50 can't kill guys with >170~180 with one headshot (at least me), where is the advantage? -
i played both normal servers ( Canada) and uk
in canada servers ( alpha,bravo, ect) i get 37 ping ( 40 on a bad day) and... my reg sux, if i shoot a 200 pinger from behind, he got a few sec to turn around and then kill me, hs or not. now its not always like that, but 50% of the time, the lager will be at an advantage, the other 50% will be the way it supposed to be ( while taking more time to kill)
playing on uk, I have 130 ping, vs a 200 pinger, its hell, not a single shot reg, but vs a 50- pinger, everything reg, maybe once per game does it not reg, although the person will die around 1 sec after i shoot him, so if some1 kill him during that 1 sec, i wont get the kill, or if i get killed during that 1 sec, he wont die. seem to not be the way ping is supposed to work, but that what i experienced. oh btw, with 130 ping vs a 50 pinger, i never EVER get shot behind the wall with bs like that, while its always do the other way around. i die a lot less when i got higher ping but get ksed more often. in ghostmode when som1 fail hes bhop i see him visible for a longer time. ect. this is just a compilation without any separation or paragraph since im lazy

my internets bassically a big piece of ****
and being in a house with 6 other people sharing the internet i get around 37 ping/117 ping if i'm the only one here but I'm usually between 87-300/180-700 depending on spikes and different factors.
Sad thing is I can still be 2nd or 3rd top fragger in most scrims >.> -
Man .Lagging means that you teleport when the ping is very high ( over 400) but under 300 you are just not at the place you are supposed to be ( both low and high ping in a 1v1 will have the same problem.PierreFanan wrote: »So, you're a camper lagger? Why you play this game?

so when you camp this mean that you are at the same place and does not teleport , this makes that a camper can`t be a lagger ." people cry lagger only to QQQQQQQQ when they got killed by a high ping.
for your headshot question I will reply like this " I sometime shoot with AWM on a still target and have 52 damage when AWM is a one shot kill".
I think that the non register shot may comes on a server bug side . I have read some post about that . (reply from MODs.)

one more thing - play a knife match in a server you're rly close to, then play one in a server you're far away from (when u press tab, close is when the number in the status column next to ur name is low, far is when the number is high). this is where you'll notice ping difference the most. ppl with lower pings will take no/low damage often, but most importantly - they're almost hitting you/are hitting you already the moment they right click with any weapon. basically, their rights happen as fast as lefts but only because the server's basically not picking it up on your side soon enough. yeeeup. If it wasn't for this, and if CF didn't eat so much CPU power (like CS:S before the last patch), game would be a WHOLE lot ezR. -

I just read your post. You said: I lag = I camp, k, if you lag (probably in UK and NA/Canadian servers, you didnt say it) why you play this game? There are several other games to play. I'm not hatting you, but it's logical and rational not playing a game when you don't have the enough conditions to play it. But well, get free to play as camper style bro. -

high ping lag is diff. from fps lag. I have low fps too, so yah, it doesn't look smooth.I agree what about FPS this has to do something with all the lagg because i run at about 20-30 fps =( but have a nice 69-78 ping i still lagg. Does FPS only affect u or ther players too?
nothing to do with your monitor unless u hit it with a bat or something. CF is highly dependant on your processor (if you can't tell by teh low-fi graphics) so yah. it's teh CPU more than anything else.Another question does FPS have to do with the moniter being crap or the computer itself?
