personally i say stay with the m4, its a great gun to learn from. but if you realy want to go short range, take the mp5, it got a great balance and if u can be sneaky and pop up in their face, chances are you will kill them unless they got godly reflex ( or chams), in long range the mp5 is pretty much useless though, but its movement speed make up for it ( if you want to mp5 in a scrim, be sure to know the map and where peoples will snipe, you don't want to be in an alley vs a sniper

main advantage of a mp5 is it recoil pretty much stay the same when you run and jump, so you wont kill fast but you wont be killed quickly either. but to be honest, a m4 is a lot more useful, you can use it in any range and it will still be good.
