Huge FPS Lag
So, my own guess would be that it has to do with that I have hexacore. (6 cores)
With my old PC I had all highest and still great FPS as this game doesn't require good PC.
However, now I have huge FPS lag.
Here's my spec:
Amd Phenom II x6 1055 2.8GHz | Schythe Mugen Push/Pull | PowerColor Radeon HD5850 1GB PCS+ | 1TB Samsung Spinpoint | Fractal Design R2 | Fractal Design Tesla 650W | Corsair 4GB 1600MHz DDR3 | Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H | Windows7 Ultimate 64-bits
Also I can't get widescreen to work. I tried both widescreen resolutions with my 24" BenQ monitor and highest make me get like this
[-| |-] if we say the [ to ] is my whole screen and the - is black you probably get how it is. and with second wide I get the opposite it doesn't fill at top & bottom. So I have to play with 1024 x 768. But yeah, let's focus at first problem as it's unplayable atm.
Note: I play Battlefield Bad Company 2 maxed out. So it's nothing wrong with my PC.

The FPS lag has nothing to do with your computer. Its Z8 servers that make us lag, our fps has been dropping every single patch.
your and idiot and should not be in tecchsupport forums unless it is to asck questions.
FPS is FRAMES PER SEC and is completely reliant on the CLIENT side's computer..
STATUS/PING is what you have confused it with.
i do not know at which point people started to refer to low fps as fps lag, but it has done nothing but complicate peoples already weak understanding of how games work...
This game uses an outdated microsoft developed game engine, and it is pretty darn bad... there is a chance it can not utilize your CPUs full potential.
kinda like why i get 80-200 fps in Source and COD5 but only 50-80 in cf.. -
K
i had the same problem with my laptop which is:
15.6" Compaq Presario C500
Intel Core Duo T2250 @ 1.73Ghz (x2)
2.5GB DDR2 800MHz RAM
100GB 2400RPM Sata HDD
Intel GMA 950 @ 256MB w/ WDDM 1.0 (Windows 7)
DVD-RW Burner w/ SuperMulti
Windows Xp Home Edition SP3 dual boot with Windows 7 Ultimate OEM
Now...i researched a lot on how to stop this lagg...i found out that internet or z8games servers has nothing to do with FPS lagg...as RendoRazor said that u guys are getting mixed up with Status/Ping. FPS lagg occurs when your computer is getting buffed up or blocked with some programs or your FAN having dust. I checked out my laptop's fan and WHOO0000 I saw a lot of dust.
No wonder why my FPS would go from 8-30 and keeps on being choppy. My laptop had nothing to do with it. As you can see if you go on this website:http://groups.google.com/group/intel9x-gaming/web/games-that-work-intel-gma-950, it will show you the list of games my graphic card can play WITH or WITHOUT ANY modifications. If you look under the "C" heading, you will find "CrossFire" WITHOUT any modifications like some others. So basically it's the dust that's clugging your fan to process normally for your processor to work properly which gives out gas to the graphic card and to the operating system.
Solution:
1. Open your computer/laptop
2. Look for the fan
3. Open screws
4. Clean out the fan with a vacuum (not recommended)
5. Clean out the fan with a compressed air can (recommended) and some tissue with windex on it
Your welcome if I helped you. -
For your issue of not being able to play full screen and the game being like [-| |-]. go to your ATI Catalyst Control Center then to 'Desktop Properties'. Set the resolution lower then what you are using currently, try 1024x760. After doing so find 'Avivo Video' in Catalyst (Using the drop down box in top left corner). After going to 'Avivo Video', go the tab named 'Theater Mode', there at the bottom you should see "Theatre Mode Settings". Now check mark 'Scale to Full Screen' instead of 'Match the Source Video'.
Catalyst renders all video dependent on whatever program your using, by setting it to Scale To Fullscreen it will make sure any program you use (Games usually) are Full screened. -
Same happens with me, in my two pc's, but i noted that windows XP dont lags like win 7.
With windows Xp my FPS was always higher than 100, now that i changed to win7 x64 FPS never goes higher then 60.Well, it's not small lags, it's HUGE Fps lags.. I doubt everyone lags like this.. It's really, unplayable.
I dunno why either.
I have dual boot between Win7 and WinXP, and when i play CF on Win7, my FPS goes really lower.
Its funny, because on any other games the FPS just increases on Win7.
Guess its just a problem with CF...like many others.(e.g:BSOD on onboard video cards) -
Ok, so it wasn't laggy, I now found what the problem is. BUT I don't know how to solve that one.
When I move my mouse in a STRAIGHT line, the CF crossfire goes like this _-_-^-_-_^ in other words - in a curved line... really weird, so it looked like lag cause of this. (or I just remember it wrong cause it was 5 days ago since my last try before today)
in windows or other games the mouse moves exactly as I want. -
CF sucks . Thats all there is to.. Not to do with your computer or fan being blocked by dust or whatever.
CF is gay....even in 2010... And plz ppl stop refering to PING, we are talking about FPS...!!!
Guess what my cousn has:
Win 7 64-bits
i7-860 @ 2.8 GHz
nVidia GTS 1GB
1TB Hard Disk
Like the post states, he plays Battlefield BC2, Crysis, MW2 and all other resource hugry games at full maxed out. No FPS problem, even while recording with the sh1t FRAPS.
Well, with CF, its a whole different story. This game doesn't even have a decent objects in the game that needs high resource to play with, and yet ihis FPS in this Game is not even above 70. What a FAIL. And he stopped playing CF now, cuz his pc was a huge fail with CF, and he agreed with me!!!
GMs, you better get started with this sh1tty FPS of CF otherwise........ -

Same here I used to have 140 fps in cf now only 60-90.
And I have high graphic settings L4D2 and I get a solid 75 frames.
My OS is Windows Vista. -
State once again:
