Computer Question
I'm tired of spending 100-200$ and getting shtty graphics cards. So, I thought I would give my specs and see what you guys would suggest.
OS: Vista x64 Home Premium, Service Pack 2
Computer Model: Gateway DX4200-09
Processor: AMD Phenom 9150e Quad-Core processor 1.80 GHz
RAM: 4.00GB
Monitor: Generic PnP Monitor (19" blah blah)
Graphic Card: Just bought Nvidia GeForce GTS250 1GB DDR3 and it performs no better than the Geforce 9400GT 1GB DDR2.. P.issed me off that I spent 200$ on another shtty graphics card.. Soooo, can someone suggest a GOOD graphics card (base off of CF cuz that's all I know to base off of). I got 60fps in 5v5s with the 9400gt, but never got to try out the GTS250. But on CSS it gives me no more fps :S Same with MW2, can't run it on any higher graphics.... so, yeah, suggest away

How about... XFX GeForce 9600 GSO 768 MB DDR2.
I get 70-100 fps on MW2 on 1680X1050 res, and it's $90.

The fps in crossfire depends more on what kind of processor you got.
Even if you have Quad core, crossfire will only use one core. -

Like they said its not your graphics card bringing your fps down. The GTS 250 series is a good card. Your processor clocked at 1.8 ghz isn't enough even though it s a quad core, crossfire only uses one of those cores as mentioned above. I experience the same problem which is why i am investing in a new computer to build.

Thanks for the info, I don't know much so I'll just ask :P. Can you buy a processor and put it in or do you need a whole new comp? :S -
Change to XP
Vista fails just as W7
Everything doubles with Vista and W7
Example , if a game need
2.8 gigz process
2 gigz ram
512 mb grapic
to play the game on Vista/W7 then it just needs
1.4 gigz process
1 gig ram
256 mb grapic
To be able to play on XP
Just that on XP you can have maxium 4 gigz ram ^^ -
I have to ask this first, what power supply are you running? Anyway here are two choices that would http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103644R, that would run CF fine and has 3x the L3 Cache which would = faster response time not to mention the higher clock speed.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103677 that has the same amount of cache as the one you have now but only 2 cores but is has a higher clock speed. I wouldn't get this one unless you can't spend that much on the first one. But seeing as CF only uses one core it would run the game faster than what you have now. -

Seriously i think your GFX is fine. For that price you could get an better processor that would inscrease your FPS. You should know that the GFX isnt everything in what concerns to ingame FPS. AMD processor, even quad-core is suckish when compared to Intel's. Also you should get other OS than Vista. It does eat fps.
