you mean my original kill icon sets or the original game icons?

These are pretty good. But I used your Spartan and Golden Chrome marks.. and combined 'em! =]

    Isn't Vengence spelled wrong?
    unfortunately yes it is.....

but that can be overlooked in the face of the sheer awesomeness of the icons set itself. =)

    Almost epic
    Except for the ''vengence''
    fix it or gtfo men

    No. It can't be overlooked.

    This
We demand that you fix it!
  • Nice fail, the third one still has the shutterstock watermark on it. The images look stock and/or stolen from someone else, and the sounds you used are from MW2.

    Nice job copying images.
  • In your movie. The defuse and bomb planted icons are cut off.

Ok let me get this straight, according to you guys the overall final kill icon set look does not matter to you, because if it was not painstakingly made from scratch then its therefore beneath you?

Its not secret I use Icons from Google images to save myself time. In my Golden chrome set the 6th kill icon is the eagle symbol from G.I JOE!!!!

Its no secret that my MW2 sound pack's USE Sounds from MW2. *smacks forehead at the sheer stupidity of that accusation*

Even in the Royal guard video itself, I said "When I scale this image down to game size, you wont get this wording right here"

*A specific reference to the shutter stock image, therefore acknowledging it WAS form shutter stock*.

yes these Icons all come from various Google searches, but the thing is I put some effort into tying them all together, and giving them all a new color scheme so they could look fresh and better than the originals.

Not to mention the fact that in the end I brought together a pretty good kill Icon set, and I think THAT should count for something.

If anyone has a problem with the kill icons, sorry, but its tough luck for you, love it or hate it its here to stay.

If you like it, use it, If you don't, move on with your life.

No one likes a forum troll, so please do the world a favor and don't become one.

If you haven't realized, that is called stealing and modding. Hence you did not buy the stock from whichever site (mind you, there is something called royalty fee)

Want to keep things legal? credit the sources.

FYI this is the internets, no one gives a flying whoop if you have the ability to google and winrar/upload

read the description and get your facts straight on the "legality issues" you seem to have.

"If you haven't realized, that is called stealing and modding."

FYI this is the "internets" as you so eloquently put it, no one gives a hoot if you use a picture off of Google, and before I even made my first Mod I sent a letter to the CrossFire team requesting information on the legality of modding their game, this is what they sent me.

    "CrossfireEvolved,

Some game modifications are acceptable, though we don't officially support or endorse them.

Things like BlindRob's AwesomeBar are okay because they are purely cosmetic (for looks). If modifications affect game balance however, they can be considered a hack and in that case are against our terms of service. This can lead to an account ban.

    Hope this answers your question.

    Thanks,

    Cross Fire Online"

End quote, With Modding out of the way lets take a look at the shutterstock image policy in the FAQ section.

    http://www.shutterstock.com/faq.mhtml?sitelink=3&gclid=CIrfyPPJw6ICFYNd5QodfHiC4g#FAQ_Q_IF_I_MODIFY_AN_IMAGE__CAN_I_CLAIM_COPYRIGHT_TO_THAT_IMAGE_

"If I modify an image, can I claim copyright to that image?

You may modify an image and use it; however, you may not claim copyright to that image. Shutterstock and its suppliers continue to own all images, whether or not they have been modified."

Hmmmmm, I guess I CAN modify and use shutter stock images even though I dont have the copyright to it.... That's one part of your rather weak argument down.

    Now read this

    http://www.shutterstock.com/faq.mhtml?sitelink=3&gclid=CIrfyPPJw6ICFYNd5QodfHiC4g#FAQ_Q_WHERE_CAN_I_USE_SHUTTERSTOCK_IMAGES_

So it seems I CAN use and Modify shutterstock images legally? and I CAN Broadcast them on websites and in videos?

So lets look at the final picture,

Z8 has no problem with me modding their game as long as it does not unbalance the gameplay.

Shutterstock allows anyone to legally use their images (and recolor/reskin them) AND they allow the images to be used in videos and on websites.

and guess whats the best part? I made sure all my images used stay within the royalty free policy. Read it.

    http://www.shutterstock.com/faq.mhtml?sitelink=3&gclid=CIrfyPPJw6ICFYNd5QodfHiC4g#FAQ_Q_WHAT_DOES__ROYALTY_FREE__MEAN_

Now kindly GTFO of my thread and don't show your face around here again.

Ive got my **** together, now could you please do the same. :)
  • Truce

    yea I know :D,

When confronted and insulted I come out swinging and don't stop until every piece of my opponents argument is dead and writhing in the dust;)

anyway, iphoenixi, we may have our differences but now that Ive blown off all my steam and put all the facts on the table, I guess I can say this "Flame war" has officially ended (for me at least)

Lets both move on and lay this to rest.

    Shall we?:)
  • almost forgot about that XD, yea its coming out soon, don't worry, I just have to put the finishing touches on it then it will be released :D

    tl;dr

It's common courtesy to give credit to your sources, otherwise it's generally considered stealing. You did a good job on the recoloring, but I don't like the feel for these.
  • The Axe and Nade kill have a bit too much going on but overall really nice Kill mark set.

to each their own my friend, I do give credit to my sources in the main feature (the video) I always put a legal note in the video description, If you overlooked that then its fine, this was all a big misunderstanding and a complete waste of all of our time lol, thanks for giving your opinion on the kill icon set, I hope in the future I will release icons that you can use and enjoy.

    Thanks :)
  • just a short question i saw here many different opinions but what is now is it Allowed to change the sounds/marks or not ? -.-

Nuff with the hate, no need to do a 20 line post regarding a subject that we should all know.

You didn't steal. Point. Now don't waste your time with enormous posts, it's not worth it.

Lol you're bad, Where on your thread, first post. does it say that you credited the sources?

if you actually BOUGHT the image, which you didn't. No one would have the problem. but since you DIDN'T, all those fancy copy paste rules that you showed me don't apply to you.

I'm not trying to completely bash you here but you can get into serious trouble for what you're doing.

You stole the images, modded them, didn't credit.

    and in the end said:

"OH PZ I DIDN'T MAKE THESE BUT I HAD THE POWER TO RECOLOR. SUBSCRIBE OKAY? THANKS"

oh and don't even get me started on originality, sir.

You copy things off the internet and are proud of it. Lol that's funny.
