K2 glitch?

i love k-2 but sadly i dont own one (working on that) ,so when i see someone with a k-2 i get exited and kill them to try and pick it up,but its never there. does k-2 dissapear when you die with it? ive only been able to use it in alaska and when somone willfully presses G key for a trade. is this true for other players, or is my croffire glitching?
