XM8 tips?

I tried searching for it but apparently "xm8" is too *******

Anyhow, I was wondering if anyone knew any tips or tricks that might help me play with the XM8 better? So far, I've noticed that the recoil is a little weird but tapping is pretty accurate. As it is, it seems pretty weak but that might be just me [coming from the AK-Silver and M4-Custom]. So, does anyone notice anything special about the XM8? Should it be a burst only gun, can I spray and pray with it, should I prefire boxes?

Any help is appreciated.

shoot and move behind a box and keep shooting while you do regular damage the guy shooting you will only do 1/4

It's very accurate but a little unstable as in the recoil can be random or inconsistent. Whatever you do, don't spray. It is also very weak, one of the weakest rifles in the game. People often strafe from behind a box so when they get back behind the box, this is the perfect time to bust their dome through it.

IMHO, the XM8 doesn't offer any big advantages aside from box damage over the M4. I find two shot bursting effective, pre-firing boxes can generate some lulz, and its overall accuracy is slightly better than the M4's.

1 shot burst is very good.

3-5 shots burst too. Aim belly button.

Spray is good at short distance only.

Use scope with 1 shot burst at very long distance.

xm8 is Great

It might be 50k Gp but So what? Its Great for scope and Single bursting.

IMO, scope is more cumbersome than helpful. If you want something balanced like an XM8 but better, get an M4.

Don't fire more than 5 bullets at a time unless you have heaps of targets to spray into, or you know the opponent is on low HP.

Use boxes to your advantage.

I've been using it for a few months now.
I've got a close range spray really controlled. Midrange is also controlled. Long range, if their head is showing, it's best to 1 click. If their whole body is showing, I prefer 2-3 bullet bursts. Phenomenal through boxes, so feel free to fire away, never hurts to shoot.
You can also fire 4 bullets at their belly button if they are running towards you, generally the last bullet or so will kill them.
You just have to practice, it makes perfect. Nothing comes easy. (:

I would suggest not spraying that much^like everyone else said, but, I do spray a lot with this gun. I mean when people are close just aim at their feet or their chest and you will get a headshot, most of the time. Also, if there are a lot of people there, the gun goes right and left...it does all the work for you, just point at the guy at the center and they are all died:p

for close to mid range, just aim for the head like you would any gun

at mid-long, i use 2-3 shot bursts and aim for the upper chest, the recoil of the 2nd or 3rd shot (depending on range) will kick up and hit him in the head

and since the gun has 100 percent wall bang, use it to ur advantage, shoot people that are behind boxes, and take cover behind them too

Thanks for the help everyone, I really appreciate it

I've noticed that the main problem with it is that the recoil+damage kind of hinders it. Because of this touchpad, I can't really control the recoil at midrange, so I'm trying to get used to the 5 burst, although it fires kind of fast. Meh, I'll get used to it eventually.
