Any semi-decent sniper can kill a mutant in less than 6 shots. Therefore, Barrett would be pointless. -

If the reason that the Barrett isn't coming out is all about Zombie mode, it's unfair to players like me who play S&D mode only.
Most people actually play S&D, and other versions of CF include Barrett.
The reason for why the Barrett is not coming out is NOT clear and has not been explained well enough. -

The explanation is really as simple as that.
I don't really get why they say it's overpowered. Okay, in MM I would understand, 2 hit kill if headshots on a 2000 hp zombie, but it is just like the AWM and DSR-1, a one hit kill. Saying it's over powered is somewhat crazy. It's only over powered in one mode. SL is overpowered and overused in every mode. Just wait though maybe we will get it. I hope we do.:D -

How is it considered that overpowered? It's powerful but if you were on the receiving end of this gun in TDM, GM, SnD, or FFA, you would get the same results if using a AWM or DSR-1. One hit = One kill. -
AFAIK, it's a 1-hit kill everywhere. God knows what it could do through boxes & through multiple enemies.
It's OP because the current sniper standards are the AWM & DSR. It contains much more power (due to weird reg, I often get 80 with the AWM, even if the shot looks clean), yet the disadvantages would be...real heavy? Noone really runs around the map holding the AWM either. -

toe = instant kill.
finger = instant kill.
toe through box or wall = instant kill
finger through box or wall = instant kill
headshot on mutant = 700 damage.
its the single most overpowering weapon in cf that i have seen so far.
If it ever gets released to us. it will be only in MM crates, or it will be heavily nerfed.

I have a solution:
Nerf it for MM, but keep it as it is for all other modes.
you should know that will never happen. too much work for Z8 & the devs. they just copy/paste from other versions 98% of the time.

I'm not trying to defend the Barrett or anything, but the GM's "word" is as good as... crap. They've said certain things would not happen that have and a GM honestly would not have much say in what goes in to this version of the game. They may relay to the developers suggestions that are popular amongst the public here, but that would probably be the extent to their persuasive powers. -

What i want to know is why put it in other Cf's and not in this one?
It doesn't make sense to put it in the others and not in this one.
And of course it will have such damage.
It's the most powerful sniper rifle.
Also.
If you are a good sniper then it won't matter if the person is using an AWM or a barrett.
You can still kill him/her. -
The M82A1/M107 Barrett "Light Fifty" is an anti-materiel rifle, not a standard sniper rifle (though scarcely used as such under certain circumstances). The .50 BMG ammunition it uses is designed primarily for armor piercing, not anti-personnel. Plus, it requires the shooter to be stationary and using the detachable bipod, given the weight and the excessive recoil it generates. There is a bull-up, shoulder fired version, but it isn't widely used.
So unless we see Light Armored Vehicles making their way into CrossFire, the Light Fifty serves absolutely no purpose, other than inflating someone's ego.
