Ping Limits

It would be nice if Crossfire had something like WarRock where you can create a room, and then set a ping limit in 3 areas, that way you won't have to play with laggers. I get sick of playing with laggers, Run up shoot them 4 times point blank with a shotty and then they kill you and run off without taking a hit.

Another thing nice would be a setting that allows only players around your rank to join a room, like level limits, so we can play with people around our skill level.

ping limit would be so nice
  • I think this is one of those best suggestions.

Yes... these laggers are soo annoying... like you said..

    So i support your suggestion...

it would be good except there is about 50 other posts suggesting this! use the searchbutton
  • If there are about 50 others pages suggesting that, then why hasn't it been implemented? If its like that, then it seems no one is listening.
  • its funny.
Low pingers hate playing against high pingers and high pingers hate playing low pingers.

Ive been in rooms where I was being kikd for supposedly having a "ping hack", considering my ping is 13. Ive heard ppl complain that "low pingers see high pingers sooner", as well as the heavily idiotic "Low pingers run faster than high pingers".

Although currently, with w/e is happening with CF, most north amarican players have higher then normal pings, and even ping spikes. For me, my ping is 17 now but i get ping spikes too 2000+ that last 2 sec or so.

As such if there is a ping cap, what would happen if some1 spikes to 300+ for even a sec. would they get kiked from the server? I think the reason they have not implimented a ping cap server is because of the work that it provides:
Pings are random and usualy can not be caculated and then labled by a system(or a game such as CF). Too many people will have to be dealt with if a problem arises.

Im afraid having a ping cap for CF at this time would cause more problems than solutions.

Yeah my friend has the same thing. He has an average ping of 54 then he suddenly warps every 27 seconds(yes i counted :P) My ping rises to about 500 at times too :[

    I blame Brazilians :l
  • It's because latency is not the only factor in reliability of UDP network communication and what you see in-game. Bandwidth and Reliability is also a factor and also the way the application protocol handles any lost packets or delay and synchronisation issues.

    .

Then set it just to enter the room, so if your ping is higher than say 80, you can't enter, but if your already in it and have a spike for a few seconds your ok. Do you trolls just say things because you don't like new features?
  • ya this has been suggested so many times and every1 always agrees. Yet z8 dosnt put it in
  • adding that would create a lot of bugs that would have everyone complaining to them what a horrible job there doing for following peoples requests lol

So your suggesting they will fck up anything they add and they people will moan about the f'ups?

    lol
  • Ping limits on rooms or servers would be amazing.

    When Will it happen?

    Never.
  • It would be nice, but how would you be able to tell the ping of a person outside of game? Yea how about we take an AVG ping also it will show on your profile.
  • Well, seeing as you've logged on to the game already, the game should be able to tell your ping. That was one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. Think before you post.
  • this would be a good thing to have in CrossFire my Ping is around 36 atmost times.:D

I have played with one person his Ping was 53K+ thats the lowest I saw you couldn't even see the guy he was lagging so bad:p

Must you troll on my topic?

If ur refering to the 1st part, that was simply facts on how low pings and high pings effect each other. Anything following my experiances is wat i thought about ur suggestion at the time.

If i trolled i would have been alot meaner. The basic fact is; having ping limits is to much work and maintenance. I followed by saying that I dont think its possible at this time for z8 to do this.

Although im curious :S do u know any games with ping limits? ^^

the whole Battlefield series (11 games) even the F2P one Battlefield Heroes
    Wolf Team
    Counter Strike

to name a few from off the top of my head, you might can go as far as to say Crossfire to, if a ping hits about 8k (i guess) you will be kicked from the game

Yeah, because people are typically opposed to positive progression. Jeez, what a dumb sentiment.

    k thx. ^^

CF is a little "young" to have a ping limit.

most of the games ping limits are if you physically loose connection or the server is set up to kick high pings.

    > > Then im stuck not playing any games for the next 12 days because im stuck with laggy internet during that duraration of time.
  • look, i think that same that Hopz.
But sorry to ask this, my ping some days is 120 and another days its 200.
So the point is, a 200 ping is bad enough to some1 be QQed???
  • Well, why not play with people at the same ping as you? Then nobody can call anyone a lagger, because you basically have the same ping. This would help everyone out cause then nobody would cry about laggers.

i have br friends with 220-280 ping and they actualy dont lag. thats just their ping, if they do lag their ping would jump. so theres a chance if he finds players with the same ping, they might not lag at all, or complain if he lags xp.

for the thread creator: because theres players with 9 ping to 200 ping that dont lag how would the ping cap consider this?

The shots dont register tho. They tank.
