When I start CF.

Whenever I start crossfire nothing happens but I go to task manager and it says patcher_cf is running so I close it and try again and nothing happens. I use windows vista and I do run it as administrator.

  • if the solutions stated in the second post are not helpful to you your problem most likely lies within the firewall or a sort of program access control function within your computer most likely third-party.
I have tried everything humanly possible to replicate the problems some people here seem to be experiencing.
I've tried this under every compatibility mode with and without administrative rights while in the process of doing so I have deleted the game hack watch as well as the xtrap files and the only thing I was unsuccessful at was stopping the game from patching itself and properly running.

I've even gone so far as bypassing security and injecting into the process to see if there is a possibility that an installed hack some of you may have installed into the program could be causing some sort of an issue after being flagged, however this is not the case even forcefully flagging the program is having a hack inside of it did not limit its ability to one hundred percent patch and run.
in fact this program could successfully run while I had a gaming server up and running on the same desktop with MySQL, Apache server, Navicat, FTP software, my web browser, dictation software, I've tried different upgrades to the.net framework I'm currently using the.net framework 4.0 for developers and up to this point still have not seen any issues whatsoever.

I'm almost certain that this is not program related by computer related, whenever you reinstall the games if you see this as a fit method of resolving your issue be sure you put such software could interfere with the installation and the functioning of the game into a learning mode or something similar or otherwise manually do so this by going to the manufacturer of the software's website and searching for the tutorials on how to enable and/or disable the necessary elements of such a program.
