is dren a good editor

A lot of people are concerned about the editing when the gameplay is much more important. I think overedited can work and HAS worked in the past. A good example that is recent is cs alive, if that's not overedited I don't know what is. Yet, it's fairly amazing. Still I prefer much simple edits that focus on showing the players skill and not the editors skill.
Example of what I speak of: http://vault.alienwarearena.com/video/mousesports-ready-willing-and-able Dren and bravezz neither are the best but Dren's been around the block longer where braves has minimal videos, so I can't compare as of now. -

dren has a lot more experience, and a lot more videos. He may know more, but it all boils down to personal preference. I dont have a favorite editor out of these two, but I can totally understand the people who don't like his editing style. For me his style seems sort of sloppy ; theres either too much bright/too much color, weird syncs/ blandness. Dren you may know a lot, but you still lack on refining the basics. Thats just my input.
Braves still needs to work on special effects, but i think hes done a great job with getting the basics down.

Incoporated II basically shows amazing frags, editing was decent "clean edit" as they call it, this makes it the most viewed CSS video ever.
And i have to say, i love the "clean edit" style, like alot of people too, obviously -
Dren's a pretty decent editor. He's been getting better. I agree his colors in the past have been over contrasted, but he's improved since then. It also helps that unlike some other posts, I think colors are towards the bottom of the list of importance. Obviously if they're terrible they can ruin the video, but I'm much more interested in who's playing, the quality of the frags, the quality of the video/fps, the sync/audio used.

That's another thing that ****es me off. Is when people complain that the footage came from replays. If you've watched frag videos from any decent game it's pretty much a guarantee that the footage wasn't frapsd, so why complain about it here? Obviously the CF replay isn't perfect, but neither is a source demo. I can't imagine why you'd want to have all the HUD and **** cluttering your screen when you're watching a frag video.

Because in-game footage proves you're legit. -

Why is that?
Fraps/Growler in-game + awesome shots = Legitness (no chams/boxes) and makes for nice quick clutches. If you're doing movies or w/e then it doesn't matter.
People can be so ignorant.JackTehHero wrote: »Lmao! Why would someone even put that in their sig lolll
