looking for a laptop/notebook
Here is what I want:
A laptop that can play CF under Windows and record easily at high FPS rates.
A laptop with at least 5 hours battery life (This is a MUST.)
A laptop that is under 15.5 inches. I would not like a 15.6 incher since that is almost 16 inches and I find my 16.4 inch Vaio an inch too big right now. I like the size of the 15 inch MBP.
A laptop that be used for college, since I am going to college within 2 years.
Budget:
If I am to buy a Pc it is 1500 dollars.
If I am to buy a Mac, it is 2100 dollars (student discount already factored in).
My reasoning is that Macs have dual Os and therefore are more beneficial, and I am fond of them.
Brands I do not prefer, but will consider:
Asus
Dell
Brands I prefer, but am not completely biased towards:
Apple
Sony
Alienware, even if Dell owns it.
Lenovo
Please no flaming. This is a calm opinion thread. Feel free to opine on something that is good for me. Go ahead, I hope to see a list.

Well depends on the money really. If your getting a laptop to play cf and record on you better get a gaming laptop. They come prepd with all the stuff you will need. I wouldnt buy a lower end and upgrade if its a laptop.

I'm sory if I'm being rude here, but you did not read my post completely did you? I needed at least 5 hours of battery, and Cf isn't that demanding. I just can't find a laptop that is in that range of recording at roughly 30 fps and playing cf at smooth rates still. -
I'll buy my new Acer in the next week (lap top) for about 900-1300 (USD) (idk how does that model cost in the official store...) with 4x2Ghz (AMD) and 6 GB Ram with a sexy Ati HD card. 15.6" HD 1366 x 768 SR , DX 11 , 3.5 hrs from buttery , 2.6 KG total.

I'd recommend going online and finding a specialist shop that will build one for you. That battery life span though, you're looking at a lot of money for something like that.
Or Asus.
Do not buy Acer, cheap, poorly built systems that will slowly die under heavy usage in under a year. -

Yes I read it fully. And I gave you the best options! Sorry if I be rude but if you got that kind of cash buy an alianware;) No need to ask a whole bunch of people when you can just google search "gaming laptop with 5 hour battery life" dummy. -

Wait, you said sorry if you're rude, but then directly called me dummy? Or is that just playful? I won't take offense to it.
Ok, time for me to go Grammar Nazi lol. This is just for fun; I'm not trying to insult you.
"Alianware"-- and you called me dummy? lol, thats funny.
Anyway, thanks for your help, it's just that I seriously need battery life when I will be in college.
Does anyone have another laptop that has not been mentioned? -

Here man my final offer... -
Holy crap... that thing is hot.
It looks like a smaller version of my Vaio lol. Battery is just jaw dropping. I'm a bit uncomfortable with the price of that for a PC, since that is hefty, but hey, let's see if I can manage. I had forgotten about the Z lol. -

That should get you through collage and some;) -
Sure sure , i used mine for 4 years (1.6 Ghz , 512 MB RAM) and i had 50-110 FPS in CF ... GG?
sorry, but acer does have a rep for making short-lived laptops.
To all others, I have found the Alienware m11x, but theres no internal CD drive. that = turn off for me lol. -
I am reviving this thread, because I do not want to create another thread. And plus, that's one less forum rule broken.
Point is: I will restate this:
I need a good battery life, 3 hours at the least while doing simple stuff like browsing + research papers.
A decent GPU, about enough to play CF and handle decently high quality 3D diagrams (example: 360 view of something)
A core i Series CPU. No c2's anymore.
14 inch or below in screen size.
