Okay so i was looking through the files in CF because whenever i try to start up the game, it patches fast and then does nothing else. (And yes i have re installed it). And i found the patch log for today. This is what it reads:

[8]15:21:24 Failed to FileCreate file : C:\Program Files\Z8Games\CrossFire\version.ini
[8]15:22:38 Failed to FileCreate file : C:\Program Files\Z8Games\CrossFire\version.ini

Any Ideas?

    I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, IM GLAD IM NOT ALONE, BUT GOOOOODDDDDD DAMN ITS SO ANNNNOYING.

    i already sent a support ticket with video included to them.

    and i check the same as you, and thoose tooo same failures where on mine, but know i deleted 1048 version and tried with the 1045 and nothing................
