I prefer the AWM and AWM-C personally over the DSR...the DSR to me is quote, "A Noobcannon", just because of the outrageous RoF and power of it. It's like the PSG on drugs. The AWM in itself has really nice looks, perfect for looking sexy on the battlefield. The DSR is kind of...well, it's funky.

whenever i use DSR it isn't consistent with the limb shots, like elbow usually kills but sometimes it doesnt and i think knees and below doesn't kill (maybe im just using the DSR wrong)
and i hafta say, AWM doesn't look that good, looks kinda plastic-ish
and DSR looks like some sort of laser sniper you'd get from halo

Dsr looks whaaaaaaaaack.

Have both, prefer the DSR, over all.

After playing with both of em (and I own both of em), I have to say the GSG-1 is more like an anti-sniper/mid-range sniping weapon. Long distances it is capable of but the AWM will get on target faster. Quick shots are capable with both guns, but easier with an AWM. Once you get used to either gun you'll own, but the DSR-1's RoF allows for engagement with most of the weapon classes in the game at any range except for CQB. The scope's 1.5x zoom is a bit awkward if you've used the AWM before and have experience with it. It's somewhat of a developed taste, and both require different playing styles to be truly effective with them. In many sniper matches the DSR=1 owns simply cause it doesn't have to unzoom to fire again.
The AWM can still own a DSR-1 in many ways, and when it (AWM) comes to quick scoping it seems to be slightly faster.

i think DSR is 100 time sbetter, 'couse it's faster has better look, better for quicksniping and it doesn't look like plastic toy.

AWM: all around sniper, good for any range (except CQC against rifle/smg xD), any type of match including SnD, preferred tactics: quickscope.

DSR: anti-sniper sniper, long range specialist (zoom is perfect for long range), good for TD sniper matches (pwns the AWM at long range due to the amazing RoF, this is a great advantage if the first shot misses the target/hits the legs), u can achieve kill streaks with it, may be even used in Egypt if u know where the enemy comes from, preferred tactics: hardscope, noscope (very close range).

Conclusion: Get both of them, I have both, and love both. DSR for Prison to get the Sniper Badge, and against snipers, AWM for anything else.

I like the AWM way more. The DSR-1 looks weird, feels weird, and sounds weird. Its also harder to quick scope in and out.

DSR are made for humans that cannot Quick Scope or Shoot far distances. That's why they go close range and use their "Quick Fire Rate" with DSR.
