I'd say AUG if you play on prescision and good defence positions with good cover. XM8 if you're moving a bit more, and want to be able to defend and attack. Basically, AUG is defencelike, XM8 is all'round.
This is sound advice. I second it. -
Having the ability to use variation in your game (rushing and defending) is useful. Therefore, I recommend XM8.
I should say falling back to the M4 (yes, reg), after one month of XM8ing. M4 is still the best gun IMO - I had to somewhat concentrate harder with the XM8, as it often does not have the freedom to spray around as the M4 does. -
XM8 - Better scope, better reload time, 100% Wallbang, easy spray pattern to control, and perfect for rushing should you want to do that. If you're really a rusher and not much of a sniper at all, throw a few Ks of GP twoards the XM8-Adv crate if you have some left over from the XM8, it's a great gun for rushing and looking like cheese.

woah woah woah i use my m4s med-long range (or dsr)
and always use xm8 when my base is getting ****d because its so easy to spray
i cant rlly long range with it too good but running around with it like its an smg spraying everywhere works very well
aug is much more long range simply cuz its reload is fail and its spread is harder to control then xm8 -
