X-Trap Need help from a COMPUTER GUY

Okay i know i did a stupid thing on my computer. This is what happened....I changed my admin account to a limited account(the one i was using all the time and playing crossfire) and another account to a admin and now I cant find the admin on my computer. There is no option to create a new account.

So you may think this is not a issue but you need to be on the admin account to load the X-Trap. I have tried going to safe mode but my dam keyboard off and doesnt let me use my arrow keys to get to safemode option. I also tried rebooting i have the CD but i need a admin account to use it. So i need help locate my admin account.

I am using windows xp home edition version 2002.

I am using windows xp home edition version 2002.

Click Start, Run and type Regedit.exe
    Navigate to the following key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Winlogon \ SpecialAccounts \ UserList

Use the File, Export option to backup the key
Create a new DWORD Value named Administrator
Double-click Administrator, and set 1 as its data
    Exit and reboot

use this account to make your current account a system administrator from the control panel
  • Aternatively, reboot the system into safe mode by pressing F8 immediately after the system POST. Use the built-in Administrator account. By default this account has no password on windows xp. Note that this account does not show up under a normal boot, you need to use safe mode.

From there you should be able to get to control panel/users and fix everything.

He said his keyboard doesn't work in the boot menu, a common problem for most USB keyboards.
If you've got an older model keyboard lying around that doesn't use USB, you can use this to select Safe Mode.
  • you do not have to boot to safe mode to access the administrator account :P

It is NOT recommended to use this account for daily use and should be deactivated after its purpose is served.

This account serves as a crutch to a crippled system, in this case I assumed he needed to make himself an administrator on his account.
  • As long as the 'Welcome Screen' is used, safe mode is the only way to login to the account.

I think ur getting some where but i cant create a new DWORD value. There is a error saying : Cannot create value: Error writing to the registry.
