Linux's OS?

Ubuntu is linux.

Linux is the OS, Ubuntu is the distro. Linux doesn't make Operating systems...

The difference is that in Linux, you actually have to do stuff yourself and if you use it right you can do much more with a Linux PC than you can do with a windows PC. It's also a lot safer to use a Linux PC.

i got ubuntu on a few not very powerful computers. takes up little space and runs quickly.

The only thing that is keeping me using Windows are the video games, they are not compatible with Ubuntu.
