blocked words are rediculous
the chat filter mostly does its job correctly but there are a few words that really just really have no buisiness in there... i think the chat filter ingame is the same as on the forums so ill try to smuggle them in.
biggy- j3sus: cmon, really? im not saying z8 is trying to be offensive to religions (although this is kind of offensive), but is there really any good reason to block this out? even if this is blocking this out is an attempt at being offensive (which is what i doubt they're trying to accomplish) there are still a few people with this name who might want to say it
chr15t: again, with the religious deal...but its extremely annoying when its x-mas time (i hate saying x-mas but i have no choice) i cant even wish someone merry youknowwhatmas
with out it popping up as merry ???mas. thats just seriously screw'd up. dont they even have announcements and other things that say the whole name of the holiday in-site and in-game?

Censorship is ALWAYS a bad idea. People will find a way around filters, and the only thing you will do is annoy all parties involved(some poor programmer has to update the filter every other day, I'm sure he has better things to do than write reg exs). What would be best would be to let people say whatever they want to say, and have an optional filter that blocks out all the dirty stuff. That way, little kids can keep their innocence(even though they are the ones that curse the most lol), and you can choose whether or not to deal with that stuff. It's not too different from the 'show blood' option in the graphics settings.
I agree with you OP. It is annoying trying to talk to someone named Jesus or talk about christmas AWM.
