Kid probably got the Administrators password :l
Changed the HTML a bit.
That's not how things work. He would need access to the ftp server to upload his own version of the .html
BUT what I think this kid did was edit the host.etc file and made it so whenever you went on http://www.z8games.com you would get redirected to another site with the same url hovering..
It's rumored that people that use hackoring sites downloaded the file by mistake.
Anywho I'mma go now. -

Most probably by finding a vulnerability by using a "pre made" hack script that they downloaded and used to upload the html page, people did not have infected systems that was showing a hacked page like a phishing page but rather an hacked page uploaded to z8 servers see Saidins thread about the website issue.
There is no need to take any extra precautions just keep your information to yourself (pass/ID) and don't download Crossfire hacks as they included keyloggers with the intention of stealing your account.
A keylogger takes screen shots of login pages and also steals what you type ie ID/pass.
And the screen shot of the hacked page is real, for those that say it's a created image. -

Yes, this did happen. The site was hacked...go figure CF getting hacked...lol. Another reason why CF should start doing IP bans. It would work better then there current method...doing nothing.
