BLARGLEFRAZZLE! this guy is so flipping annoying!
it just won't die!! i keep hitting it with a hammer, and it wont die! Diablos, wherefore art thou so annoying???

any suggestions on how to beat this guy?

Diablos are hard-shelled wyverns, commonly found in the Desert region. Their name "Diablos," means both "Two Horned" and "Devil". They are easily recognized by their trademark dual horns protruding from their head. They have tough skin and even stronger heads, which they use as their primary weapon. Diablos have the ability to dig and travel underground, but can easily be unearthed with a Sonic Bomb. However, Sonic Bombs do not work when Diablos is enraged, due to its increased tolerance to high-frequency sounds. They are one of the most feared monsters living in the desert. It has been theorised that their horns become weaker and more brittle with age, as some individuals can be found in the Desert with only one horn, although it is possible these individuals lost a horn due to a battle with another Diablos, or when it became stuck during a charge.

I don't know what equips you're using, so I can't make too accurate of a recommendation.

That is the damage formula for MH3, with all the monsters HP, damage multipliers, and the like. If you tell me what hammer you're using I can help you with upgrades and ****. Also you're technique :P
Quick pointers:
- Bring shockbomb thingies. Those sound ones. When he is tunneling, you get him in a pitfall like status when you use them over top of him.
- Do NOT attempt when he is raging, it has no effect.
- Hammers do the most damage to him on his stomach. I know, it makes no sense with previous experience, but yeah.
- If you can't hit his stomach, go for the neck. The head takes no damage.
Just SP the **** outta him and then when he leaves sonic and triple pound.
NOTE: It's weak to water, if you're using the Lud Bone Mace, or the upgraded one. -

FYI, the Festival of Fear event is going on right now. If you pop online and get a good team (and have good armor) you can do the low rank one in under 20 minutes. This'll allow you to get the stuff which makes it possible to get the first hammer in the Jhen Mohran series, Fang Hammer Something, which is an upgraded Lud bone mace :O -

First time I saw the Dragonator counter his lunge, I knew I was getting my money's worth :P
FYI cannon's do more damage than most weapons except for the end-game ones. Although that doesn't mean you shouldn't run around on him just for the hell of it

i was a noob (still am) and this other guy was a noob. We both ran on his back and just mined our little hearts out.
then he kinda "did a barrel roll" and i fell in the sand. I though i died XD
well, i didn't. He ended up dying three times, and well, we lost lol
i did get one scale off his back -
make sure your using your hammerdin spec without a crappy aura, use fant and have a sorc constantly spamming ice spells not named blizzed (aka glac) over and over without their crappy mf gear on, and have a barb just shout and use the sorc to kite him all over the level.
and make sure the trash is dead, why does everyone forget the trash. -
