Freezes; Stops Responding at loading

Whenever I try to play CrossFire the game begins, goes to a screen with a green monster and the title "CrossFire, Rival Factions, Mutations" and then freezes. The game only, as my computer still loads the task manager which tells me CrossFire is not responding.

I've never been able to play.

The sticky about common errors says nothing about this, and it seems like nobody else encountered this.

Please let me know what I should do.

Also, if it helps, I installed CfrossFire this morning, so I'm pretty sure it's the newest.
