SnD is all about team work, a ****y team will get you a bad score no matter how good you are.The best tip i give you is to find a good team or abort and find another room.Best place to find a good team would be alpha 7,there you won't worry about having a team of noobs.

Practice, learn your weapon, aim, angles, sound, game sense. It is all pretty basic. Pretty much anything you can do to find where your enemy is (in a legit way) will be to your advantage. Also game sense will help, (learning when to play aggressive/defensive and knowing how to counter your enemies pushes) overall, practice makes perfect. go play alpha 7. Then once you master the basics you can go play for a team competatively. Which is mostly team work based.

Defend at any time since the other team is stupid enough to rush most of the time. When ur defending defend a certain spot, walk sideways from left to right with little ticks, single of double shot and go for headshots. Get walking and shooting at the same time out of the way this wont work with any of those guns. Make sure u never get back****d. Buy a silenced weapon.

join an S&D clan, or have people teach you how to play S&D.
if your good enough, you can join most S&D clans out there.
what matters in S&D is patience, good aim, and GAMESENSE. (what is gamesence: your knowledge, read defense: the guide for more info)
Read these guides for the low-down
Defense: The Guide
and
Malte GR's ak-47 Guide. both helped me in many ways, especally the defense guide.
then when you play a few pubs, (i reccomend starting in Eagle Eye, Black Widow, and Sub Base are a few of the largely played maps) post in the clan section, or join a clan youl feel comfortable with.
here are a few of the various S&D clans i remember off the top of my head includeing mine
-187- (great team if your starting out or mid-way through your S&D skills, but alot is required of you to join this clan. I DO reccomend joining this clan)
die[n]asty (even though i'm in this clan, and we're a bit newer. it's a solid team, chill guys,
consistent. I DO reccomend joining this clan.)
LPK: once they get their act together, they are pretty much solid. (good team. not sure on these guys.)
LifeLine (amazing team, i played with one of their guys, he out did me easily, these guys are a league of their own. i DON'T reccomend, they arent recruiting anyways.)
plumbers: mixed reviews on these guys, some of their mems were from paradox, which was a well known scrim team. plumbers has a few of the old members, so i can imagine their skill level. (alot is required of you if you want to join, LOTS of gamesence, and you have to be consistent in scrims from what i hear)
if you have any questions, you can ask me.
