The difference lies in the alternative, or power strike (right clip). With a regular katana, the power strike is timed, like with all the melee weapon's power strikes. With the golden katana, the power strike is controlled. You can actually hold down the right mouse button, and it will hold the strike until you release it.

Nah, the reg katana on jp cf you can hold it down as long as you want. Unless they've changed it since i played.
