How to get crossfire to your resoultion
I had this problem for a while while running crossfire in windows 7. When ever i tried to add my screen resolution it would say "screen resolution is not supported" But i have now found out how to fix this and seeing as most of the replys on the forums are to mess about with your graphics card settings ill show u the easiest way to do this.
Right click the crossfire shortcut on the desktop.
Go to properties.
Go to the shortcut tab.
Where is says Target: (should look something like this) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Z8Games\FreeFPS\CrossFire\CF_G4box.exe"
Add this to the end
+menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1366 +szy 768
Change 1366 and 768 to your screen resolution E.G +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1024 +szy 720
It should look like this now
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Z8Games\FreeFPS\CrossFire\CF_G4box.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1366 +szy 768
MAKE SURE THE SPACE IS THERE BEFORE THE PLUS!
Hit apply and then ok and run the game as normal =D
Right click the crossfire shortcut on the desktop.

Where i say make sure there is a space it goes here {Fire\CF_G4box.exe"SPACEHERE+menu 1 +full}
Maybe thats what ur doing wrong. Also this is for windows 7 i dont know if it works on xp ect.
Also, this is for people who are getting their screen limited by black areas not for people who want the game to look better.
I am running crossfire in 1366x768 btw which is not on the supported list. This method worked for me straight away so if it doesn't work for you i dnno why. -

I have a Win 7 Acer 7540 laptop with ATI Radeon and it has a 1900 x 600 max resolution. Game supports only 1440 x 900 max type resolutions, it is widescreen though.
The idea is how to get the image stretched in whole screen? For example, I have other games that do not support some resolutions, but by doin changes like posted above, the game runs in full screen.
I had the same issue with BF2, had the black sides of screen, but I did write "+widescreen" somewhere and it fully worked. Gotta do some experimenting and see if it works. I was able to play the game in any resolution in full screen. -
nothin happens bro... i followed ur instructions with space. My resolution is the same with urs(laptop 1366 x 768)

Is there any switch to add for the refresh rate? I'm using a CRT monitor and
since the spring patch the game is defaulting to 60hz. It used 75hz before.
I'm assuming the switch would look something like this to add to the shortcut
+menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1024 +szy 768 then _______75hz ?
I'm using windows XP. -
