Questions about DSR-1, yes or no?

from the thread/especially Pointmen's review here: am I right or not? 68k GP is not a small figure, can't buy one first and regret later

1. heavier than AWM = move slower than AWMer?

2. one 1.5x zoom with one click, instead of 1x and 2x zoom with AWM, so might save sometime/safer in zooming out provided you are OK with low power zoom?

3. DSR-1 is not an exact 100% 1 shot KO, I notice 1 shot in the elbow with AWM = absolutely kill, but people say it is not with DSR-1?

4. draw and reload is slower than AWM?

5. when you shoot DSR, it doesn't zoom out like AWM = you may shoot multiple shots while zooming in, like PSG?

6. close range no zoom is easier to kill than AWM?

    1. I don't think it's heavier but either the same or slightly lighter.

    2. It's not bad since you instantly get a good mid to long range zoom with one click though it's horrid at close range unless you quick scope.

    3. Yes it does not kill in the arm. But that shouldn't be a big deal as long as you aim at the torso or head you should be fine.

    4. I agree that the draw is way slower but the reload is about 2.29 seconds. Not as slow as I first though, just a lot of sound and movement.

    5. Yes but a slightly slower rate of fire then the PSG.

    6. I have found no scoping is much easier with the DSR then the AWM as the bullets go straight more then the AWM.

  • One thing the PSG-RD is MUCH faster than the dsr-1. I actually like this since all three(PSG,DSR,AWM) are all still good in their own ways.

****** The only problem have the DSR are, when fire and click faster not respond, not shure why.

its takes alot of time to settle down before taking the next shot, almost as slow as a bolt action awm
  • i still want barret lol but this does come pretty close to a barret well.....not really barret got uber wall dmg, i think dsr is like the PSG-1 in SF it pwns and and put up a good fight with awp espically in more accurate and faster quickscoping

    1. It kinda feels heavier when I jump, but in a footrace with an AWM user, you're faster with the DSR-1.

    2. Personally I prefer the 1.5x zoom. When using an AWM, I rarely use the 2x zoom. Plus, with a single scope, I don't have to switch to my knife to zoom out.

    3. Neither the AWM nor the DSR-1 do 100% damage to arms and legs, and there isn't much of a difference between the two snipers when you do hit an arm or a leg.

    4. It draws slightly slower and reloads slightly faster, but the difference is hardly noticeable.

    5. Yes, you stay zoomed in, just like with the PSG-1.

    6. Its an awesome no-scoper compared to the AWM.

I couldnt have said it better myself Lolli :-P IMO DSR-1 is worth it but takes some getting used to. OMG the noscope pwns w/ DSR.

I used both my AWM as well as my PSG-1 Red Dragon regularly, so I had no problem adjusting to the DSR-1.

It looks more like my opponents need some getting used to me using my DSR-1. They seem to cry more than usual now.

I think the awm does do a 100% damage arm shot? or maybe its hand but anyway its around that area.
  • allcorrect except nos. 3 and 4. it is 1 hit KO anywhere. i shot elbow poking out of a door in Monaco and i killed the guy. and the gun draw is faster than awm, but the reload is slow as hell. i might make a comparison of the AWM, DSR and Reddragon in a separate post l8r. like a proper one. kk

Yeah I think it does 100 damage to the elbow. I haven't checked it but I'm 99% sure.
  • dude u will find the best answer by asking someone to drop dsr1 for you in a game. u can try and see cuz everyone has different thoughts about it!
