What's with the ping?

OK, So basically I almost always have 75 ping. Sometimes even 72. Lately it's been up in the 80's and 90's and even shoots to 400. I am using an ethernet cord and nobody downloads stuff. This has been happening since that last update...

I just want to be able to switch from my sniper and pistol faster...
Anybody know anything that might be causing this or fixes?

Btw z8. With you being in Canada and me being close to canada I should be able to get 40 ping like I do in west coast. Your servers are BAD my computer is probably more powerful.

Btw my specs are as following:

Windows xp
2.8ghz quad core
4g ram.
512mb ati raedon hd vid card
100mpbs internet.

-Ping spikes could be due to the server having too many players aka overloading.

-You could have some background services running such as uTorrent or some other bandwidth constricting services.

-Your modem/ethernet adapter might be going out and need to be replaced soon.

I just made this computer not too long ago.

I got an insta messenger open and mozzilla. But other than that...
I just think z8 needs more powerful servers.

I tell the same thing to half of the users that have this problem;

I really wish i could help you but i do not run the servers and I don't have the power nor permission to check out the server.

For now, just send in a support ticket.

I get the same thing. Still stays around 35, but I'm getting random lag spikes to 400 as well. Only on crossfire of course, everything else works fine. Just shutting down some unneeded processes usually works for me.

i usually have 60-70 suddenly today i have 100-300 is it because of the patch thats cuming soon??

Yeah my usual ping is around 50 but today its been consistently at 125. Idk whats going on

you should try using Gamebooster and if u use vista use "vista anti lag" to pretty useful softwares

I already use gamebooster and everything. Nothing has changed with my computer im pretty sure its just the servers.

my normal PING is 300,

ping has nothing at that stance

u may have a good conection to ur ISP but ur ISP has a long/****y conection to Z8 server it will have lag pikes

u can use the command on MS-DOS
C:\>tracert (z8 crossfire IP)

and send the feedback to z8

you can go to my computer right click on (c) drive and hit properties and on the lower right hand side there is a disk cleanup tool very helpful for ping. it will pop up and then calculates how much space will be freed after that's done you check the boxes you want to clear and hit okay in Min's you will have ping drop from 100 to 70.
