I'd suggest he get the low-profile 4650, seeing as it takes less power, produces less heat and is smaller in size. I also prefer ATI over Nvidia.

also can do a combo buy on a graphics card and psu and end up getting a new psu for ~20 bucks -

Get something in the 4000 series. You can get a mid grade 4000 series card that will run circles around the price equal on the nvidia side. If you're on a budget go ati, drivers have been more stable the last year on the ati side as well for me at least. -

Thing is, you wont be able to get the max out of ATi cards for crossfire
, like mine..
@Tasty, he said he had 500W PSU, and I didnt recomment anything higher than 9500GT cuz probably the CPU will bottleneck its perfomance, especially for CF.
