yes, its very important to always use a gun to ur advantage.

At close quarters, since xm8 lacks in dmg, always draw people behind boxes. Predict their movements and fire a couple rounds, boom u got a wallshot .

Another tactic(i suppose) is to just hide behind a box and shoot straight forward, like the crates on tdm ship

and one more tip for xm8, at mid-long range, aim for the neck/upper chest area, take a two shot burst and recoil always seems to find the head

if the enemy is far away shoot about 3-4 bullets at a time in the body or head.
It works for me.

I don't know what the above posters are talking about, I've never thought the XM8 lacked in power. Anyway, try two shot bursting around upper chest and neck area. If you like to one shot, go ahead; the XM8 can hold its own in that territory. Use the full wall damage and excellent accuracy to your advantage and tear people up before they even get to you. Good, underrated gun, can serve you well as a Bag 1.

xm8 is one of the lower dmg rifles, ak, m4, k2, and some other guns all have higher dmg

Bursting at upper chest to head works well.

CQC, spray the head. Don't try spraying at anything other than point blank.

Try to kill em before they get close to you, since the close range damage is pretty low. If you're gonna shoot whilst in scope, try to get the dot on their neck, and burst only 2 bullets max.

-Good scope if used correct.
-Ok sound

disadvantages
-Low power
-Pretty average reload
-Relatively hard to use (need to be a good headshotter)



I like to camp a lot with this gun. I'm more of an intellligent player,but not with the best reactions and i amn't a terrific headshotter. It isnt a very big gun so camping and peeking works well. If you peek and see someone,pull back to camping behind the box and tap through the box in that general area. I usually get many hs's this way,and many hackusations.
The wallbang is this guns best advantage. Try and pick a spot with the most box cover (e.g. B site port on GR). This gun works best with a 2-3 shot burst to chest or neck. With the scope long range i like to go for longer bursts and maybe aiming lower to the torso with that dodgy ''dot'' crosshair.
Close range is most difficult with this gun. If you're going turning a corner or whatever try and aim high,in case there is someone either rushing that corner or just walking through a site or whatever i'd aim very high coming around the corner. This way it will take less time to aim for head. Its very important to be able to spray across the head as its your best chance of killing them close range,especially against a high powered gun like ak47.

ill test it tommorow anyway. spray a wall with it and prnt screen after the 5th,6th,7th bullet etc so i find out how vertically its going. (if i have my laptop tommorow,its supposed to be getting sent away for repairs but....its still here) after repairs the fan will be repaired though,so more stable/better fps = more hours of cf + better play from RuST

Just aim the head.


And use C type crosshair.
