Black Box and then Closes

My problem is this:

I start up crossfire, start game, hgw or whatever that thing does its thing, then game should start right? All im getting is a black box that doesn't respond...and then it closes out after a while i believe (on its own)

edit: at first the black box didn't appear, then i went into crossfire folder and had the file called "crossfire" (the client?) run as admin (right click-->compatibility-->run as admin)
