Hackers are smart!
Hackers have found out a new way of outsmarting many of us who report them, yes!..its true and i have to admit it i fell for it 2 times(not anymore)..lol. Last 2 days i caught 2 high ranking players hacking and as usual i saved the replay for reporting it later, i am in the habit of naming the replay as per the hacker's IGN(recommended by [GM]Saidin). But later when i checked for the replay in the folder...guess what!??..both the replays are missing!!...i couldn't believe my eyes!...i searched my entire hard drive, i coudn't find it and i thought it might be some bug with CrossFire. But today i saved a replay and it got saved, so i was thinkin y the hell dint the last 2 replays get saved?!?..finally i figured it out!!..both the hackers had something common about their IGN. Both of their names started with * and ended with * eg; *IGN* and by default Windows doesn't allow such special characters in a file name and thats how my replays went missing and those hackers got away scot-free. So i warn all my fellow crossfire community members to be more careful while saving replays and dont make the mistake which i made. Atleast CrossFire should have warned me that the files are not getting saved, but nothing!

OH MY! I'M A GENIUS!
if u read by first post i have mentioned clearly that it was [GM]Saidin's recommendation to name the .cfr file exactly as the hackers IGN. I wont be repeating this mistake again

The asterisk * is used by explorers like windows explorer to search for an unknown number of unknown characters, it is mentioned by [GM]Saidin in the the hack rule thread.[GM]Saidin wrote: »All replays are labeled CF[DATE]_0000.cfr so if everyone is saving the replay they all have exactly the same name. If we ever need to reference or review the case it becomes difficult to know which replay belongs to which report. So we ask for a bit of help from you guys to rename the file to some sort of approximate name of the hacker. We say approximate because windows file names can't have some characters (* for example).
Many people might fall for that, u probably missed some IT lessons in ur high school

i was aware of it!...but it dint come across my mind when i saved the replays :P -
i am talking about people who use hacks in crossfire.no mix up!

Coding a hack can often be fairly difficult, but not so much it terms of games like this. However, you'd still need some mild form of intelligence at least, to do this.
Whereas a hack user, only has to download said hack, inject, and away they go. All this because their egos can't take having their pixels killed by people they'll never see, nor meet, in their lives...
