Dropping pistols

I was playing a pistols only FFA and noticed that when you killed an opponent he dropped his pistol.

I could pick up a discarded pistol! Sweet, I was excited because I frequently run out of ammo in pistol matches (not from wasting, I survive that long).
So, I sampled the Glock (which I hate as much in game as I do in real life) used the Ana, had some fun trying different guns.

Then I joined a TDM Pistols match, and they did not drop the pistols when killed...

So... is this done intentionally? Or was it a lapse in update notes? I love that you can drop your pistol, I think it should be in all game modes.

It's intentional. When you kill someone in a pistol only FFA they drop the pistol on purpose. In any other match only their primary weapon would drop because you cant drop 2 weapons when you die.

In pistol only, You ONLY get pistol, There for you can ONLY drop it..

In any other mode, You can ONLY hold 1 gun, Therefore You ONLY drop the gun you're holding..

Common sense.

If that made sense, then when I join full weapon matches and only bring my Deagle then people should be able to pick up my pistol when I die...
If I have my Deagle out when I die and my AK is "holstered", I don't drop the Deagle only, I drop my K!

Doesn't happen as you say.

I call it a "K" all the time, I don't always use both initials.

Pistols only drop in FFA pistol only if I'm not mistaken.

You should either drop both weapons when you die or drop the one that you are holding / using at the time.
