Forum and Game Suggestions
Well, I have pretty much kept what I think this company should do for the game to myself but after being here for more than a year, I think it is time to release my opinions.
Feel free to agree with me on anything or at least post any of your suggestions onto mine. These are just opinions coming from a veteran Cross Fire player.
I don't think people from countries that have a lengthy distance from us should be excluded from playing, but at least give them some customization. This could be anything from closer servers to ping limited rooms. There could be a simple option when you create a room that says Ping: 1-100, 101-150, 151+ and all. Something as simple as that will make the game extremely enjoyable for everyone to experience the game the same way.
No more new modes. I was hoping that this game would go as far as FFA and that was it. The only exception to this from me would be adding the "CSS" mode. This gives people the chance to buy their own guns, use money strategys, etc. When Mutation Mode and Knife Arena came out, I thought that was the end for the game. I am amazed some still stuck around after those. Instead of coming out with new modes, come out with exclusive maps to the NA version so we are more unique and stand out from the other versions of CF. Exclusive guns would also be a great bonus.
Simple in-game tweaks and accessibility. Things such as a fast forward or rewind on the replay system is what I am sure most people would love to have. Specifically the movie makers here. Not to mention fixing how lag dependent and how CPU dependent this game is. Cross Fire has to much of a stress on peoples CPU's and not enough on the GPU which makes it hard for some people to play. If it means recoding the game to fix lag (shooting people behind walls on one end but standing out in the open on the other) and FPS's, so be it, it will be worth it in the long run.
Cheaters. I know there is no way around them, every AC has flaws in it that people will find their way around. However, there are much better anticheats than the ones we have or had (Xtrap, GameGuard). Either go with one that is already out there like PunkBuster (Hardware bans for repeated account bans) or spend the extra time and money to create your own unique to the game that will be incredibly hard to crack. Doing one of these will be taking a huge step for Cross Fire.
Vote kicking system. Not going to sugar coat this: the only votes that should be counted, are for the people that actually vote. For example, if I don't vote, it shouldn't be an F12. Simple as that.
More forum customization such as signatures and a reputation system (equivalent to karma from SG). Little additions like these are always a plus for the community but will take some moderation to ensure saftey/security.
Resolutions. There just isn't enough of them. More resolutions means it is more compatible for other people which means more will pay and play. The most widely asked for is 1920x1080, I would use this for sure.

Ping caps - Yes (who want to play with laggers[really])
New modes - Yes (why not? Don't like don't play them)
Simple in-game tweaks and accessibility - Yes
Cheaters - No, I think Xtrap has done and is doing a good job, no anti-hack program is going to be 100% sucessful, probably not ever.
Vote kicking system - No, Non votes should be an F12 (if you cared enough it would be f11), besides when your playing and these kik things come up for no reason, you can ignore them safe in the knowledge that your vote with be the right one and an F12.
Forum customization - Yes and include an online list! -

It does, but it can alway be done better. Banned people make a new account and keep cheating. If hardware bans would be possible it would be a lot more effective in stopping them.
Secondly, bloody's suggestion about making their own would have the upside that they wouldn't have to rely on another company to keep their game safe. If you find a problem you can solve, you don't have to wait on someone else to do it for you.... -
I agree about the rooms for high ping players. ( Except us they will enjoy the game better too )
About the vote kick system , i dont know if it can be done something ( even with the vip system that many ask in this forum ). I think that the solution would be volunteer gamers that watch games as spectators and have the ability to kick or even ban hackers , glitchers . They would rethink it before hack in front of policy -
The only thing that I don't agree with is no more new modes. Although new modes come out, no ones forcing you to play them. New modes attract people to the game sometimes. The "CSS" mode would be great for competitive gameplay although I highly doubt they would make it.Bloodyfire. wrote: »No more new modes. Time spent on making and fixing modes you don't like = time not spent on maps and guns for modes you do like. -
