Hit space to respawn

Hit a key to respawn, say space. Not just died and automatically respawned.

A much easier way to increase the complexity of farmers, and a better way to protect the guy need to ...., say, pee.

if u have to wait atleast 5 sec til u press space, then its a great idea
however, if u can press i t whenever, noobs would just hold down the button

Its a decent idea. And I like it. Hope they at least consider this. Although the 5 second rules should still apply.

Awesome idea, it's a real pain when you have to disappear for a second only to come back and find you've been killed 10+ times in only a few minutes.

i actually thought about this before and this would be great but hopefully it would detect "key press" not "key down" because that way, if key is down, they could just tape down the key.

Failure... Everytime someone is gonna die they'll just respawn themselves now would you want that cuz i wouldnt.

there would stil be a countdown but after the countdown, they'd have to press space

If you think press space key after death hurt your finger, try spray more to reduce the chance be killed

After press space, we can even get the chance to change weapon -- but that is not beneficial for me, as the result of TDM addictive, I end up with only 2 GP rifle and 1 GP pistol available.

I need the choice not to carry my deagle

I intended for a new thread, but maybe someone can help me here.

Maybe it already there, but I can not find out how to do it. I don't want to run with my deagle when I am carrying the assult rifle, in that case, I can pick up better rifles. And when you find you finished clip, there is normally no time to grap pistol.

I don't have any extra bag.
My deagle will be damaged.

Love the idea, but it would need to be "Press fire to respawn" or else when I go back to other games I'll be mashing space.

And FYI people, as it was said you would still need to wait for the respawn time set by the room host, you can just pick when to spawn once that time as past.

So after all the feed back (especially blindeagle's) and other consideration, I would like to propose following method:

After death, player must press space bar (or other) in order to respawn;
Next step, if a vote is going on, some statistics against the one who being voted will going on, player must vote to go over it, especially you are the one being voted on.
Then if the player has bags, it is time to choose which weapon set -- I don't like the idea to running around like rabit with all the big weapons in those small back pack -- becase I don't have it

Then at last, click on ok button to respawn.

Benefit:
1. Protect those who need to leave for a minute of two
2. Dramatically increase the difficulty of farming -- now simple method like sticking the key would not work.
3. Enhance the vote kick system, when player has enough time to review it they might did a better judgement, also when they are forced to do it, they will really consider it.
4. Have a chance to do extra functionality. Like change weapons.
5. Z8 have more chance to run some advertisment, more commercial possibility.
6. Would not bring too much trouble to normal players, press space bar, then review and press f11 or f12 and then choose weapon (or skip) and then click ok should be faster than wait 5 minutes, and vote kick not happens quite often.

Again, the idea is not quite new. In many other fps we need press something to respawn (say, delta force 2, war rock). But that is not a bad idea, at least if that would not create some astonishing score that freak me out when I just get on this game.

great idea, except I think that it should be that if you press it to early that your respawn bar restarts, so that that farmers can't just hold down the space bar.. but then again... Z8games makes alot of $$ from farmers cuz there more into spending.. so i dunno if they want to help cause their downfall

I think you might have just overcomplicated your idea.

That doesn't really make sense.... So you're obligated to press space to spawn back? What about waiting 0,3,5,10 seconds respawns settings?

Also, I never saw that option in any other game. If you have to pee, just deal with it... A desertion wouldn't harm you. And if you want the farmers gone, you should consider switching games because the majority of the farmers are huge ZP buyers in other words, sponsors of Crossfire. If seeing others ranking faster than you bugs you, go play a game like Call of Duty where you can level much easier.

If you want a real threat of Crossfire, you should turn towards the hackers.

Good idea but the thing about farmers...

Version 1.0 of Key Presser has been released. It is a program that automatically presses an assigned key and sends that keypress to a Windows application. It works in most Windows applications that I have tested it with.

Maybe also before you press your space bar to respawn you could change bags. Many times after i have spawned i have tried to change bags only to be killed whilst doing this.

great idea, but it will have some abusing i think, but it will stop farming a bit more, but i still think they must ban all farmers ingame :-)
