ping ping ping

just a question i opened up cf today and xtrap downloaded something and when i started the game i got in a EE and started playing then i windowed out and got on vent and my ping shot up to 800 and 600 and kept moving back to 74 and kept going it did the same thing with xfire voice enabled but when i turn them off my ping goes back down this has never happened before any ideas on what happened or if i can do something to fix this??
