Less servers, bigger channels

Alpha, Delta, Beta, Rookie...that's already 4 servers all located in Toronto. Well, no problems for me (7 ping for the win), but it causes problems for other players. Things like the West Coast Server are what I'm asking for.

First of all, take away a few servers (this should save some cash) then make bigger channels. Then, attempt to make some servers in other parts of the world (if Crossfire's international...).

There are many reasons for this.

First of all, ping won't be such an issue. People should just play in the server that allows for smoothest gameplay.

Secondly, less servers and bigger channels mean that hackers will be easily spotted. I mean, there's no where to hide, even if he continues hopping servers. If Mods go on, surely they'll catch a few hackers in an hour. Same thing goes for glitchers.

And last but not least, rooms will tend to be more full. I mean, you know how long you have to search just to a play a certain map?

Mainly, less servers but bigger channels solves 2 important issues: ping difference and hackers/glitchers.

Consider, won't ya?

  • Very good. I would keep the Westcoast but it really bothers me when people lagg in westcoast over 120. ****es me off majorly because it just ruins gameplay

More servers less channels gets my vote. You can run one physical server and have multiple game servers...

That way you can have cool servers for different things and with different penalties and benefits.

Either that or labelling the channels for different modes was a cool suggestion I saw before.

Like labeling them FFA, TDM, S&D, MM, GM etc. so people will know which channel to join to get the type of games they want.
  • I disagree then there will be more laggers in the main servers thats a big no no
