IP ban is the way to go. It will prevent most hackers because:

1. Many hackers, when banned, make new accounts using the same IP. banning the IP will prevent that.
2. Most people dont know how to change their IP.
3. IP is very easy to find, as opposed to hardware banning where the person can switch to another hardware, such as a laptop or another computer.

IP ban isnt perfect, but its the most effective way of banning. That's why its the way to go!

Most people know what google is.

IP Banning is a horrible way to stop hackers. The only decent way to ban someone is a mac address ban.

No other game bans IP's, except Counter Strike.

Takes me 5 minutes to change my IP address.

Would prefer to see the bans become more severe. As it is now the penalities are not much worse than getting flogged with a wet noodle.

lol. you are saying an easy proxy is harder than switching to a new computer everysingle time you get banned?
