Could I have high ping JUST by playing on a laptop?

Unless your computer is seriously bogged down by the game therefore leaving no room for it to communicate with the server. No your laptop does not cause lag. Lag is dependent on your internet connection and on how far you are from the server.

No your Pc. or Laptop has nothing to do with your ping, but may change your Frame rate depending on your graphic card.ping is the distance you are from the server that may change it or if your internet connection is bad or too many people on the server at the same moment .

I'm just assuming that their both from the same year. ITss hard saying without physically being there. Wireless spikes do to its "refresh" of its connection. (easiest term I can put it in) Theres a way to fix it so it doesn't spike so high, but its within the confines of the routers settings.

b/c the performance isn't that big so can't use out ur net speed.

And 38 from my Cr4p top.

Simple answer is no.

What I've seen many, many times over is people that play on wifi's have the most sporadic of all pings. One minute they look like they are sitting next to me and the next they look like they are playing from Anartica.

Wifi's are awesome but not for gaming.

You probably use wireless with your laptop right?

Causes your ping to spike alot. It will have normal ping but will constantly lag.

I use a laptop on wireless Internet and get 17 ping.. I go on my PC and get 20...

My 8-year-old comp : 75-120 ping, 20-30 FPS
New laptop: 80-170 ping, 70-200 FPS
Both use the same wireless connection, have the same distance to the router
