When I add brushes... do I just click on the .gmp or w/e and it will be added like photoshop? because when I do that it doesn't show anything in my list of brushes

Text and render don't really blend well with the background.
It's ok for a sixth though.

Honestly, it's not that great...
You just slapped a couple of fractals for a background, put on some colored custom brushes, put in your render, and added text.

Try reading more tutorials.
