Crossfire is addictive?

My question is, have you ever suffered of any negative consequence of you gaming too much (SOCIAL, INTELLECTUAL, PHSYCHOLOGICAL, PHYSIOLOGICAL)?
Actually yes, last summer, I played CF 24/7. No joke. The moment I wake up, I started up CF and play, sometimes I miss breakfast, then around noon, I'd usually do work around the house for 30 min. then back to gaming. I continue to play untill 4:00PM.
After the summer, I couldn't remember anything that happened. My summer pretty much was forgotten. All I remember was "I played games all day", I did so much things at night that I could not remember , so pretty much, it kills my brain cells.
But now, I'm able to control this addiction. -

I mean, going out to the movies is like $20, playing games is cheaper.
Intellectual: I don't really think so. Video games never made me dumber, thats for sure. And my IQ test says I'm pretty sharp so I'd have to say no on this one.
Phsychological: I never really felt that I changed. Video games were where I let out my stress (Competitive play mostly added to it though) and blew off steam. I might talk a lot online but IRL I'm quiet and keep to myself. I'd say video gaming had a positive impact on me.
Physological: I wasn't too active before I started gaming, so there was really no difference. I would play CF for a long ass time daily (I don't know how I did it then, I couldn't do it now) and I never felt ill or anything. I'm 6'3, 182lbs so I'm not overweight or anything.
Once I stopped gaming, I started working out more just to pass the time (Running and light weight lifting, push ups, situps, etc.) and I started playing Basketball again.
Back in the Serenity days (Like summer '09) I used to wake up, put some shorts on, go upstairs, grab the gallon of Arizona Green Tea out of the fridge and go sit in front of the computer and play CF all day. I'm talking like 10am to 5pm, then I'd hop off the computer when my mom got home from work and chit chat with her for a bit, then after dinner I'd get back on and play from like 7pm to 11pm or later. It was bad. Most of it was pubbing too. Crazy.
But I never felt addicted. If I was out of the house for a day or two and couldn't play I felt just fine. The reason I spent so much time on the computer was because there was nothing more entertaining to do at my house. I figured it was better to interact with people/computer than just sit in front of the TV or watch a movie. The only negitive impact that I think PC gaming has had on me was that when I started college I didn't really do my homework like I should because I'd rather play games. Also I'd do a half assed job on house chores and things like that.
pretty much defines me rofl most great gamers are introverts and find social interactions draining especially new people.. i am content playing games and rather do it than watching tv. and like him i love working out on my spare time. i generally dont like meeting new people i like having fewer friends with strong relatationship rather than many acquaintances. i am highly competitive so i love basketball, football, and online fps
and not to mention smoke weed haha but i had to cut it off since im looking for a job -

Simply because something does not apply to you does not mean it fails. Furthermore escaping tends to be linked to addiction, while I am not saying that you are addicted to video gaming as I am in no position to make such a call. I can say that there are numerous studies that have found cases of individuals addicted to video gaming (a google search would probably do, and a decent database would likely have more information).
That being said, true cases of addiction are likely rare at least with CF. While I cannot specifically cite the source, I do remember most cases of addiction and video gaming being related to MMORPG games rather then FPS games. -
Ive heard about this study, theres another one going on in the US right now, and I get what theyre saying, but games like this are pretty important to me. MC and CF are my ways to relax, and if it means I procrastinate a bit sometimes, im still one of the top students in my school (yes nerd alert I suppose but I do have an life outside of my computer) so I think its fine.
