Semi-solution(s) for kicked pros

Ok heres my suggestion(s)
1.Well for higher ranks it should take more F11 votes to kick... like 2nd Lt should be 11/5 1st LT 12/4 Captain 13/3 and from there 14/2. I think this will help ... Ok to the ppl who will say this will be abused. Well it will. But thats when we have to do our part. Get the Screenshot, Replay, and Name. Then report. Im willing to deal w/ the downside to get a little protection from noob kickers. I just got kicked 40/5 w/ a 60% broke M16 while running Scrimspot.
2.A Server dedicated to pros. OK i know this has been suggested before based on Rank like 2nd LT +.... but make even put further requirements on it. X# of Channels for GM pros.. you have to have X# of GM games played or X# of GM games won or combo of the 2.
3. If you run Scrimspot and have X#s of uploaded clean sessions you get a next to your name. I know this is probably a flawed tactic but i think more good than harm will come from it.

Hey, another person. Welcome to the party. ;D

#2 is mostly my idea except I really like the idea you tacked onto it.

I've been dealing with the issue in my head like this... "So few servers, so many channels... Why not lots of servers for different things, fewer channels? The channels never all get used anyways, it's always like 4 full, the rest empty. Maybe a couple small games usually between friends or something going on."

I was thinking just make more servers, each with different reasons to play there. Your idea of subdividing the channels is a cool one though. If each channel were named according to a game mode I wouldn't have to pop in and see "Oh, no Alaska here... Not even an MM. :\ Boring." I would just have to hop into delta, choose the TDM channel and play whatever struck my fancy. :D
  • Well TY this has been stewing for a while in my mind and i think a GM should really consider these... maybe even a 300+ ping autoboot. if you have 300+ ping for more than 5 secs you get booted to the waiting room or lobby.

I absolutely agree, for a server or channel a no lag cap would be quite nice. I used to get really annoyed when I played WCoast hoping to have no-lag games and found it full of laggy Fillipinos. I understand that they're doing it to get slightly better latency BUT I don't think it was doing much and they were just ruining it for people who otherwise would've had lag-free games.

I also think 300+ is very fair and reasonable. Perhaps a latency server with 100+, 200+ and 300+ channels though. :) Usually lag isn't serious but I hate seeing people constantly at 600. Worse than that are the spikes to 2000, 5000 and they lag port around, fly up in the air or stand still and I'm like "WTF DIE! Wait... Where did you go?" -Noob lagger headshots Purity from the left side- WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hahaha.
  • I know right! i like the channels w/ different caps cool addition
  • Another kick vote victim, hrmm maybe there is a problem....

    Like your ideas.

200+ ping is autoboot in my opinion cant stand these laggers, they have to skill just get their kills from lagging
  • I'm just waiting for DOT to come in here and say "Well then play TDM with friends, or clanmates and stop whining" You know.. the whole US policy for fixing issues that doesn't fix them and instead just covers them over for a bit until the problem needs covering again?

I orginally was thinking that too.. but i figured i had to be realistic about what they would put in the game. 200+ ping cap just wont happen... too many ppl have those pings and i agree they use that to their advantage.

LOL yeh i just say that in another post! Much love to the GMs BUT i really LOLed at that when i saw it
The sad truth is that a lagging bunnyhopping ghost can be your worst enemy. :'(
  • i like the idea.. wat i dont like is the idea of being kicked with the ping.. i mean.. sometimes.. and everyone have ping spike..
  • Rather than having a strict universal automatic high ping kick for the whole server, I personally would prefer if it was a possible host setting option before starting the game.

Sounds like a way better idea imo! TY for that.
  • I like the idea for having a server for the "pros" could be based on rank or KDR.

The ping setting before you start the game is just awesome. good Ideas.
  • haha triple fail

    1) another reason why ppl should and will farm

    2) umm it's the pros who qq more than noobs..LTs who suck qq HELL A LOT..trainees suck it up better because they know they will start off bad

    3) umm yea...ppl can download hacks the other day...doesnt work.

the worst isnt pro getting kicked..it's a noob getting kicked..that person just wants to play a game even though he sucks..he/she persists and he/she gets kicked..that is just wrong..pros: if you were pros..then you would and could suck it up and deal with the kick..because you can do it again..noobs, well they cant.

    1) If they farm to get on our servers they will have no skill. They will swiftly be derailed back to a poor k/d ratio. It's fine though, I mean the OFFICIAL system would be set up correctly. If they want to cheat they will just become cannon fodder for a room full of people that can play.

    2) I'd say it's fairly equal. Like I said in another post, when I was going back and collecting suggestions to do something about the vote-kicks I saw just as many posts about nubs whining there are hackers in the game. I would agree that higher rank noobs do cry a lot but you said "pros" and "noobs" rank has relatively nothing to do with skill.

    3) People find ways to cheat, sure. I'll give you that but why does it matter that you're bringing it up? If they do it now why does it matter if they do it on a no-kick server or a high rank or k/d server or a low ping server? Just don't play there if you're worried about it.

Of course noobs can suck it up as much as pros can. Why would anyone kick a noob though? There's no Kick: Too nooby. If that's happening it's another example of the kick-voting system itself being abused, corrupt and extremely dysfunctional.
