A white (silver?) HS, is on the head.

Haven't really tested it, but as I recall - the golden ones are around the eye-line and above.

You are right.
Gold HS = 100HP damage
If the user has less than 100HP and you kill him by doing an HS, it would be Silver.

Enough said!
