Ping Problems w/ Windows 7

Today i upgraded my computer to Windows 7. I (when useing windows xp) got a steady 32 +/- 1 or 2 ping. With windows 7 im getting around 80-90 w/ constant jumps of 60 up and 60 down. My brother is running crossfire on his laptop that has windows Xp as well, and is still running around 32 ping the same mine was. we both run off the same router. at the same time, he was getting solid 32, i was spiking up and down 60 off of 80-90. Anyone advice? help? or anything?
I have the exact same hardware and the exact same drivers as i did running Xp

I have the same problem too. It may be because windows 7 uses up more ram than windows XP. Can I ask how much RAM u use?

This is the solution

* Open regedit
* Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Multimedia\SystemProfile
* There will be an entry for network performance throttling, default value is 10; set it to FFFFFFFF hex (willl look like 0xFFFFFFFF to the right of the entry)
* Reboot

You might also want to see if there are updated drivers for your network interface for Windows 7. Generally speaking XP and Vista/7 drivers are different, and although they might install they won't operate to their full potential.
