When Lil'Wayne was good.

Lolli, you're not looking at the big picture.
Majority of these people give little to no reason why they think he sucks or why rap sucks in general.
For example, the Einstein that posted above me.
If you have a valid reason as to why you dislike his music or the genre then so be it, but just flat out saying "that sucks" is ignorant. Why do I need a reason to support my taste in music? Do you need a reason to not like Brussels sprouts? Why does personal taste need to be supported with reasons, when all reasons, good or bad, won't make a lick of a difference to someone else? Are you going to change your mind about liking Lil'Wayne's music if I give you a compelling reason to why I don't like his music?

You want a valid reason I see. Alright, all rap is are people talking fast to a beat, does it take as much talent as some other genres? No. Their lyrics are all about the same sht. Rap was good along time ago. Now it's just bad with people like lil wayne ruining what was once a great genre. -
Okay first Lil wayne is just a joke too me. Loliroger seems to have similar tastes too me. I'm a classic rock/metal head. However I listen to everything and hip hop is one of my favorite genre's and Lil wayne is simply pop rap. If 13 year old girls like it, I don't. Check out the old stuff, Big L, Notorious BIG, Tupac, Bone thugs and harmony, Wu tang, Run dmc, Pharcyde, KRS, A tribe called quest, Nas, Pitch black, MOP, Dre. All of these listed are the cream of the crop there's a lot of good hip hop out there you just have to scratch the surface a bit to find it.
Meh, that's not really "scratching the surface", as all those guys you mentioned are commercial/contemporary. -

True, stating reasons might not change a person mind, but just stating something like that is ignorant. You were just doing like most of the other ppl who posted here and just said he sucks.Be more mature than them and back up your opinion. -

I love your logic.
I mean how could I be so blind as to see the relation of music to vegetables.
I wasn't aware of the fact I could literally taste my music.
I'll go lick a CD real quick.
Seriously, you prove my point even more.
Anyone who is not willing to give something a chance and says "this sucks" or for you "I hate brussel sprouts" proves my point even more on the ignorance thing I stated before.
You don't know if you're going to like something or not until you try it.
Just like you can't justly determine that a certain genre of music sucks (or artist) until you give them a chance by listening (or tasting, i'm not quite sure what you do yet).
And if you do, you have a reason.
Not your type of music?
Well damn.. You have a reason.
You could easily say "I just don't enjoy that type of music because..."
Takes what.. 3 words?
"He raps about this or that"
However you'd rather say "That sucks".
And no, your answer wouldn't change what I like or dislike.
What I like is what makes me unique.
But whatever, I thought you were one of the few people in this forum who were actually different from the norm of this community.
Do what you want, I really don't care anymore as I've ranted long enough, rofl. -

There's some good stuff up in there.
Mostly instrumentals or just beats but they're good.
Look into this if you haven't heard already.

Yea, I mainly listen to easy listening beats mixed with a diverse type of rhyming.
In other words, Jazzy Hip-Hop, as some say.
And again, I prefer: Instrumentals > Lyrics.
Only like the lyrical versions if the Emcee/Singer actually fits the beat.
