Broken or just not working?

Ive been told that if you break your gun you get GP but i just broke my gun today and no GP.
The other thing is it said that its malfunctioning not broken and now i dont know wat to do cos i aint got no GP.

Sigh. The GP you get is the GP you save by not repairing your gun.
If it's now malfunctioning, it should cost 2500/10000 GP to repair. So that's the amount of GP you have earned/saved.
