Hacking indicators?

Sorry, if this is not the right section to ask this question....but I am curious as to what signs or indicators to look for when it comes to identifiing hackers. I know there are several threads going about likes/dislikes of the "kicking" system and "reporting hackers", but I can't find any discussions (or I missed it) on what specifically to be looking for....

For instance, several times I have come across players who it almost impossible to lay the crosshairs on....as if the crosshair is detered to miss. Sometimes I think it might be just a lag issue, but other times it seems pretty obvious that something is not right.

I guess if we can discuss the indicators of what we are seeing, maybe the legit players won't get kicked as much and more actual hacking cases can be reported....

  • Only way to tell a TRUE hacker is by literal impossible. HSing a ghost when he is invisible 3 times isn't an indicator. Heck, I get that from luck all the time.

Now, if someone walks into a room with an M60, and manages to HS you RIGHT AWAY with a single shot when you are hiding in an out there place (Like the pillar BEHIND the stacked crates, rather then infront of them in Lost Relics in Ghost Mode) THEN you have a hacker.

Or in TD case, if you unload an entire clip into someone and no dmg, that might just be the ping difference screwing up the server (Which turns barely hits, into barely misseds) But if this happens CONSTANTLY (As one ghost did to me one GM match) then you might have an HP hacker.

DO NOT look at the score to tell a hacker, because I personally, before the better Hack Protection was in place, ruined many chammer scores in Ghost Mode as a ghost by waiting for them to line me up, and then charging them and wrecking them.

If a player needs hacks to win, then he wont have that good of a score, (Since he isn't that good to begin with) If a player uses hacks just for the lolz Then you can EASILY tell without the score as help.
  • if their head does a 360 really fast they aimbot
if ue playing alaska and they stare at the middle of the wall, move their cosshair at the speed sum1 can walk and right as their crosshair goes to the end of the wall, a man turns the corner, they wall
if sum1 shoots u and kills u with 1 shot they use *** hack

these r 3 kinds of hack ive seen

Actually, the third one can commonly be attributed to server lag. Seeing as I, with 40 ping, can fire at someone with 50, and they will accuse me of the 1 shot kill hack despite the fact half my 12 shots hit em dead center.

Agree on first one, if some one jump off roof and consequencely kill 4 ppls in different direction before he lands, I think he is hacking, you can tell that because he rotate in air very fast.

The last one is not true, besides head shot, sometimes I kill someone when I think I can not make it but I killed, later on I figure out that guy might have only 1 hp left.

About the ping thing, I have the experience that after I saying f word and almost changed mag, someone was reported killed by me. I think I might scare others the same way when there is someone in my family is watching online TV or bt downloading.

The second one is almost impossible to test. Most of us aim to the corner and wait some one to running up.
  • It is not hard to kill someone with a snipe, you don't have to wall you just have to have good reaction time. See-click-kill.

Like Tiger said it's very hard to tell but the best way is to spec them a lot and see how they play. Easy headshots without good play style. Now if they cover really well, fight carefully, aim well and still miss some shots they probably aren't hacking. If they're running around like a nub, spraying M60 headshots all over the place then they may hack.

As it stands I have seen no hackers outside of MM for months. What people consider hacks are usually good players, luck shots (Like I got 2 HS in the same round from spraying the door at head level in alaska and got kicked) good audio, box glitchers, in Ghost Mode you could adjust settings in weird ways in order to make ghosts more visible. There are a plethora of things I'd consider "cheating" in a way that isn't actually a hack.

Now the easy mutant kill hack in MM is a hack and it's very easy to see so no one should have a problem. See it: Report it. Glitchers are another, in replay you can watch them getting into boxes and things and hiding. See it: Report it. If you're unsure about a player doing well or with a good score it's probably just a good player.

People doing 360's is what I call screen flip, it happens to me every few games or so. Laser mice have that problem for some reason. If they headshot 10 people while doing it without trying, it's probably a hack but otherwise it's probably just their mouse flaking out.

Again, I haven't seen anyone hacking for a long time outside of MM. And it's rare that I even see them lately. Mostly it's just blockers and glitchers annoying people but if you're unsure watch the replay, see how they fight and make your call whether to send it in or not. Or upload it and send it to us so we can check out their skillz. :D
  • People looking at walls in a way that is unreal, maybe looking through a wall as if it was clear, or looking into the wall and your thinking "your gonna get killed" but they know they won't because they see the enemy and know they are safe.

When they kill everyone within 30 secs with their one shot kill.

When they never miss a shot.

The best way to tell if someone is hacking and to clear innocents is don't judge on 1/2 incidents, I mean ok they did a few unreal shots but (say nothing) if it is constantly occurring then they are probably hacking so see what they do later.
