Paypal Hac.K
Hello,
A forwarning to those that use paypal. My paypal account was recently hac.ked and a small amount of money transfered out.
Only thing I can think of was someone used a keylogger to access it. They attempted to do it a second time but paypal became suspicious and denied the second attempt according to the email I was sent.
Currently paypal is requesting that I resubmit my banking information for security reasons to access my account. On the other hand I'm willing to right off the loss and deny paypal any future business and the ability to dispute this one time breach.
As a forwarning to those that use or have ever used paypal their security system is now in question.
God speed and safe travels,
CH

Thats why i never used that type of payment Prepaid card 4 ever!!! -
lol What are people doing that's getting their paypal hacked? I've had my account for years and it's still safe. If there is a problem with your account, generally calling paypal will solve the problem versus doing online contact with them.
Now...where did you pick up a keylogger? -

LOL by using hack maybe? Hacks have keyloggers -
Awww, and I was think about getting a PayPal account.
Oh well, thanks for the heads up.
The only problem I had with them was that it took them a month to take the money out of my account when I bought something on itunes.
Seriously paypal is safe and easy. -
Word of advice, NEVER link your bank account to your Paypal account. If a person manages to hijack your Paypal account -- they could essentially steal every cent in your bank account, leaving you with absolutely zero recourse.
If you need to pay with Paypal, use a CREDIT CARD. Paypal WILL reimburse you -- and if they don't, simply call your CC company and issue a chargeback. Paypal will still end up paying for lost money due to fraudulent activity. Credit card companies are legally allowed to do this as it prevents retailers from willingly accepting fraudulent credit cards just for easy business.
Simply put:
Bank account - No Protection
Credit Card - Protection against fraud -
Hello,
First I've been using paypal for as long as they have been in existence. Which probably translates into thousands of items being bought online without ever an issue.
Second I have multiple bank accounts. Semi-retired in my 40's partially due to the fact I don't believe in credit cards or credit. If I can't pay cash for it then I'm not going to live beyond my means to aquire anything. House was only exception.
Never thought about contacting them via telephone. Good idea but once trust is broken in a financial situation it can never be repaired. If it had been a large sum of money then maybe I would have pursued it but easier to move on and with my current location almost no reason to continue shopping online. Will miss the convience of it.
Safe Travels,
CH
