It is in fact always in the fist slot. The slots are randomly determined when the spinner finishes spinning, and the first item has a chance to be a gun.

my SS of winning a thompson and a winchester were both in 2nd slot o.O
I won tommy when winnie was a main prize. I wont winnie when tommy was main prize. maybe thats why
